I picked Serg to win for sure. I have no reason to doubt Sergio's take on the fight...that Cotto landed a great left hook early and he was never able to recover. Being brain buzzed can certainly make it appear someone's legs are shot. Full credit to Cotto for the victory.

Lol, you mad? All I heard from that post was "waaahhhh waaahhh waahhh" Then you tried bringing concrete hands Margarito into the discussion to try and get a response, lmfao.

Just face the facts. Your bf Sergio Martinez(the lineal MW champ of the world) got his **** pushed in by a shot 147 fighter simply because Cotto was the superior fighter.

You're one of the very few that picked Serg and are able to give Cotto his credit after, congrats, sir:good

I may be the only one here now, but I'm hardly the only one on the thread and I didn't even create it. And, what is the entire purpose of us being here, it's to debate what we feel using facts. I'm sorry my facts have a far greater significance than your speculations and gets entirely in your way of your blind hate for Cotto.

For the record I actually don't dislike Miguel that much, and as far as facts go you are in total denial about the reality of the situation with that match, fine Miguel Cotto has got a lot of skill everyone knows that, but the reason in which Miguel was so able to execute his plans is because Sergio had limited mobility and couldn't get out of the way of his left hook. Any fighter with a modicum of skill would have landed on and hurt Martinez in that match, he was not fully healthy and you know it.

You know that if Martinez was close to healthy Miguel would have had a far harder time landing his shots. Martinez was shot in the Murray fight, and after being on crutches for over half a yearb from surgery and after looking as bad as he did in that match, I find myself embarrassed for the Cotto fans clinging to any shred they can find to try and legitimize that shell of a win over a shell of a Martinez.

First off, you only have 60 seconds before Cotto hits Serg with the first devastating left in order to make the determination on Sergio's ability. This in itself is the very early in feel out in which Sergio looked to be moving fine. And, you have a problem within your statement right there, Cotto landing the game changing punches he did had nothing to do with Sergio being able to get out of the way. Sergio was actually attempting punches and was simply outsmarted by Cotto when he did.

This is what I find embarrassing, an outcome not going the way you had predicted or wanted to go (whichever applies) and simply sweeping it away with "oh, he must've been shot" claims even though, there is not nearly enough evidence for that to be said in that fight. Not even his life long trainer asked about the knee, I swear, it's like something you people are wanting to see that is pulled right out of thin air.

There is clear mobility distinction from the first 60 seconds to the rest of the fight, and Cotto's game changer landed while Serg was throwing, not because he was unable to evade. See which way the actual facts lean?? The other you're just taking what you see, ignoring what Serg was doing (punching) ignoring what Cotto had done (massive left hook counter) and just making up what you want to see, it's ridiculous really.

Equally you're basing your whole case on the 60 seconds you saw of Martinez seeming to move fine to validate Cotto's win, well after the first knock down there's no way you can claim the other 2 KD's had anything to do with Miguel's skill or punching power Sergio couldn't stand up because his knee was obviously giving him troubles.
He hasn't fought since and the doctors don't if he ever will again because his knee is shot.
Which is all the proof most rational people would need.

You see knee, yet the case could also be made he had no balance because of cob webs in the brain just the same. Then, you got nothing else supporting that til the end of the fight, neither Sergio or his trainer make mention or reference of the knee until then. And if his knee is so obviously and blatantly shot why is there confusion on his future or whether he'll have another operation? If it were true he is obviously and blatantly shot, there would be no decision on what to do. It's been six months, that doesn't sound obvious at all to me.

All you have is speculation, where as all Martinez fans have is, he was laid up for the majority of a year, nursing a potentially career ending knee injury before the match, which he's currently still waiting to find us whether he will have to retire from or not. You Cotto fans really are stretching reality to the breaking point with your arguments that Martinez wasn't shot to s***.
