Im tired of People saying Martinez was shot after Cotto beat him!!!

He trained for that fight, he put that knee under pressure, stress, sparred, all that. He actually did excercises that purposely and directly stressed that knee, what he put it through under training surpassed what the ring demanded of it, just as all how all the great ones train. It handled his training he knew it was gonna handle the ring, that's why even his trainer never questioned it.

They will you tell fights are won in the gym, because thats where do their most difficult training. And, Sergio was so confident in a win he said numerous times he didn't even try to negotiate with Cotto much, imagine that, headed for a money grabbing beat down and not trying to get all you can out of it...doesn't make sense. Sergio thought his stock was gonna be much higher after that fight.

I love Cotto, but Sergio, fully fit would have dominated any Cotto, at 160. Sergio, that fought Williams and Pavlik would have been tough for GGG. His footwork and speed.

 

The fact that COTTO moved up in weight and beat Martinez is all the proof we need that Martinez was S H O T
