In December of last year, Martinez had surgery on his knees. He basically said he never though he'd walk again, let along fight again.

In the months leading up to the fight, he didn't do much road work. Hate to break it to you, but Martinez's legs were gone before the fight. He had knee braces on both knees on the night of the fight.

    :patsch

Martinez was the definition of shot in the cotto fight, in fact to this day hes not even sure if he will ever fight again due to the condition of his body.

Again.... martinez is not sure if he can ever make a return to the ring, because of how broken down his body is.

Its amazing a boxing fan can watch that fight and come to any other conclusion other than that martinez was shot

Cotto is back punk! If you cant tell the way hes fighting with Roach then you truly DKSAB!! take the opponet out, just look at his footwork, the way he moves, throw body shots again, roach changed him bro.

Martinez might win if Cotto didnt have Roach but with Roach no shot.

All this if healthy stuff, that fight the way it is. Your the type a guy to be like "Well if Canelo wasnt so Green he would've whooped Cotto" MAN GTFOH with that nonsense :hi:

Whatever! Martinez never had defense and it showed when he fought the most skilled fighte hes ever fought.

Crazy how any boxing fan didnt see that. somehow you telling me Martinez not keeping his hands up has nothing to do with hand to hand combat and you expect me to think your a boxing fan???:lol: right...:lol:

Exactly. Martinez will probably never fight again, because he knows his legs are gone. He can't fight anymore and it's not because of Cotto, it's because his knees are badly damaged.

You're sadly clinging to your hope that he's back, if it helps you sleep better at night to think that Sergio Martinez was healthy... have at it, but it doesn't change the reality of the situation, which makes your beliefs delusions.

He didn't need defense because his reflexes were so good, he could easily slip and bob and weave his way through a match. similar to RJJ, his legs were his defense, without them he was a sitting duck, get a grip.

"shot"...blah, blah, blah, "shot" blah, blah, blah...I see all you did is repeat shot a bunch of times and threw up some emoticons as your only validation of that. How about a real big boy discussion, what is your definition of shot? I have always heard the general consensus was to be, seeing the opportunities but not being able to pull the trigger. If that's your definition, how do you explain one being shot when what caused them to lose was in fact pulling the trigger??

So Martinez never keeping his hands up, hence why he was dropped 5 of his last 6 fights, has nothing to do with Cotto smashing him?? Only about his knee uh?? Like his knee blocks his face....right...

I didnt say the man was completety healthy, im saying that doesnt stop his nonsense defense that has him dropped every fight.

I'd ask you this. name another fighter he fought that was more skilled then Cotto...man i cant wait for this

he cant define it bro, dont even try it. Cotto was a better, skilled fight and has a better trainer and a better gamplan. Martinez thought a 5'8 guy couldnt hurt him, so when he finally got hit it was a reality check.
