I am a little afraid that the entire fight could turn out to be like round 10 from Cotto v Pac. When Cotto just circled and danced away Pac Man couldn't really get off and at the same time cotto was landing one or two shots at a time. Now i know floyd can dance a hell of a lot better than Cotto and is a master at the one two combo so could this just be an easy UD for Money? So please convince me that this isn't going to happen? Maybe Pac Man wasn't going after Cotto that much in 10 because he wanted a bit of a breather and he already had the fight won? I certainly hope so, these two are my favourite fighters and like everyone i want it to be competative. Peace and i welcome all opinions.
Different gameplan. He trained for the fight at the assumption Cotto will box or fight, not run. On top of that, Pac has already won...almost looked like he couldnt be bothered. Watch Judah-PBF, at times PBF had both his hands up backing up as Judah was bashing him, granted he was blocking them. However, Judahs punches came in 1 at a time, fast but 1 at a time, Pac's combinations are insane, its like 5 punches in a rapid succession at all angles, he will get through and hurt PBF. Im pretty confident with a Pac win. Ive analysed and put out my prediction on his last 3 fights here...how they transpired was pretty close to how I predicted they would go. Obviously in sparring they will be simulating a fast defensive fighter running, I seriously doubt Pac is just gonna walk in there not knowing how to deal with it...
U never know till fight time. Floyd may take the fight in the inside as he is also effective their and has been more agressive against southpaws.
Its a big worry for everybody who hopes to see a scrap worthy of the mega-hype this event will recieve. Big question is... Can Roach teach Manny to cut the ring off effectively vs a guy like Floyd??? It sure didn't look like it vs Cotto... And he didn't train Oscar to do it right vs Floyd either. Is this a weak spot in Freddy's game?
I dunno, I thought Hoya did a decent job, considering just how good Floyd's movement is. Also keep in mind that Pac is much, much quicker on his feet than Hoya was -- he has the speed to cut off the ring against even Mayweather, as long as he practices it enough. The problem is that there's no sparring partner out there that can replicate Floyd's graceful/quick movement, so Pac will just have to adjust a little on the night.
the judah fight is a perfect example to favor floyd look at the adjustments he made after round 3 and dominated the rest of the fight, that exactly whats going to happen with pac, mayweather will struggle with pacs intensity and agrression in the first 3 or 4 and then adjust , and shut him out for the final 7 or 8 rounds on his way to a clear concise ud victory, and everyone will say pac was too small for him and the only way to prove his greatness will be to step up to heavy and fight a klitschko
I just didn't like the way Pac was following/chasing Cotto around the ring instead of stepping to cut off his escape routes. (See George Foreman) DLH was making the same mistake with Floyd in their fight too imo. But you're right, if anybody has the footspeed and shear athletisism to do it, it's Manny. :hey
Zab Judah wasn't even aggressive from the start against Floyd, yet Floyd had trouble with how Judah closed the gap and extended with his left straight. It took Floyd about four to five rounds before settling in. Before that, Zab landed with his left quite a number of times. If he was fighting with the intensity and aggression that Pacquiao brings every night he probably would have scored a second knockdown after he caught Floyd lunging in with a picture-perfect right hook and buckled his knees staggering backwards for a knockdown that wasn't called. And Floyd was very aggressive against Zab, taking away Zab's offensive options himself that's why he was able to shut Judah down. I'd like to see him be like that against Pacquiao, but I think he'll probably be more like Cotto from rounds seven to twelve.
I am almost sure it will be a snoozefest and Im not expecting fireworks Im just intrested to see if Manny can put his hands on May, after 2 or 3 rds we will know. A boring ass fight means its favorable for May an exciting scrap means May is getting a beatdown
