And I'm very impressed with Ward. Beautiful footwork keeping him out of range of Miranda, but instead of running which is what Dirrell was doing, he comes back with hard combination's to body and head. Don't sleep on Ward, this is a wonderful performance against a pretty good opponent in Edison Miranda.
It was a brilliant performance by Ward. People lose sight of the manner of that victory just because Abraham and Pavlik have KO'd him. Right, but neither of them completely shut Miranda down and barely took a punch in the process. Pavlik had to exchange with Miranda and break him down, Abraham had life and death, and was pushed back a great deal in the second fight before pulling out the KO.
The more rounds I'm watching, the more I'm thinking Ward would totally outclass and dominate Carl Froch. Ward is the real deal based on this performance.
I thought ward did an outstanding job against miranda and i also believe he has learned a great deal since that victory. He will win the whole thing in my opinion but he needs to really watch out for the big right hand that kessler throws cause it could be life or death for him
Ward is making Miranda his girlfriend. He holds, but then breaks and beats the **** out of Miranda on the inside - takes a step back, and then bounces combination's off Miranda's big head. It was a humbling experience for Pantera.
I wouldn't say that, but in the final six rounds he did clinch a whole lot. Enough to the point where I lost interest watching it live. And it's not exactly like that had been a grueling fight. This is why I think Kessler will dominate and stop him in the middle to late rounds, after a competitive fight early.
Yeah i watched that fight the other day too and it was pure brilliance from Ward, the kid can do it all, his inside fighting was superb and his movement really impressive, the way he switched stances was very good too, he took a few clean shots but other than that his defence was solid aswell, i see him causing Kessler all sorts of problems to be honest and with him being at home he won't be getting robbed like Dirrell was.
I just watched the 11th, and Ward was still dominating, outclassing a good opponent. Kessler will have his hands full, no question about it.
Seeing him struggle against Perdomo makes me think otherwise. Ward has far more dimensions then what he displayed against Miranda and he'll change up his gameplan against Kessler. As a matter of fact, he can probably struggle and go life and death, but as long as he holds on he would most likely see a decision win considering he's in the US...
I wouldn't say Kessler struggled with Perdormo. I'd say he struggled with ring rust more than anything. The man hadn't fought in nearly a year against an awkward southpaw, so that was to be expected. Once he began to regain his timing, the fight was basically over. Not so sure about Ward having more dimensions than he showed against Miranda, and I've seen roughly 70% of his professional fights. But we'll see come next month. Agreed. If you ask me, one of the main problems with a lot of these up and coming fighters is that they have no idea what so ever how to fight on the inside and resort to clinching because of it.
