God i hope Sasha chins him again so so badly Listen to Whyte, the guy talk so much nonsense https://www.skysports.com/boxing/ne...lan-and-vows-to-exact-vicious-form-of-revenge
Thats exactly ducking. Just because someone duck and hide behind mental problems and that crab garbage, just show what a .... .. ........ he is. Fury knew that even WK underperformed, and that he has zero chance in the rematch, and he run scared to death twice from a 40 year old man, this is just straight up facts !!! He throws his belt and run into retirement. Sorry but i can`t give him credits for that.
I woukd heavily favour Povetkin. Povetkins the much better all round boxer and far better resume than Wilder. Wilder won't gight Povetkin though, he avoids big punchers at costs. I fully expect Wilder to fight Martin to see who is currently the third best American HW behind Hunter and Ruiz.
Hmm. There seems to be a tendency to put a small fighter of today and assume he’d be a small fighter of yesteryear. Frazier is 5’ 11” and was 214lbs. Povetkin is 6’ 2” and 230lbs. I reckon Povetkin would not have many problems closing that distance.
Yeah, but where you rank in boxing history is dependent on the era you were in. Unfortunately for Povetkin his prime was in Wlad’s prime. It’s not much of a stretch to believe that a prime Povetkin would have dealt with Joshua and Wilder handedly. But time being what it is, history will be much kinder to them.
Good point, but in the end covidkin would have been overpowered by george, foreman might be slightly taller but he was much stronger and could stop him by using his sledghammer jab.
Frazier at his best was just over 200lbs, maybe 204 205 at his best. He weighed heavier but not 214 prime
0 chance against a guy he already beat once? Sure, Vlad may have come in much better for the rematch but 0 chance is pretty silly
Klitschko approach for the fight, tactic/strategy was all wrong. He also have problems outside the ring, this ain`t excuse. Just because you beat someone, that doesn`t mean automatically you are the better fighter or you will beat him again. People on here should understand that. I`m tired of proving people wrong. Do this on MMA forum for Miocic - Cormier 2, same with Joshua - Ruiz 2. And Ruiz destroyed Joshua, but the reason was quite obvious. Joshua approach/tactic/strategy was all wrong. He goes for the kill and decide to trade with a faster guy on the inside, where the smaller guy with shorter arms will have advantage. Klitschko on the other hand was way too passive and wasn`t throwing at all. Yeah one part is because of age, but another is the i****** trainer he had and his strategy/tactic/approach was all wrong. When he decide to throw just a bit in the 12, he hurt Fury. What Klitschko needed in the rematch, even past prime it, slower and zero explosive version of him was to just throw more punches, and esp. his right hand. The way to beat Fury is by either combination or by solid right hand. When Steward died, and Klitschko decide to work with that pretender of a coach Banks, he stopped using his right hand properly and his shots were messy. Yeah i definitely think age factor plays a huge role, but at the end of the day Fury won most of the rounds, just by throwing/landing just a few more punches. Klitschko just needed to do few adjustment to win the rematch. It was him losing, not Fury winning, at least in my eyes.
If I were to guess, around 10 years ago I reckon. Boxing is a strange sport, whereby we rate their prime when a fighter is perhaps at the height of their star power, or when they’re in their most prominent fights. It’s not always the case though, given the nature of how infrequently boxers fight, and how those fights can be selected. Athletes peak on 3 main fronts: Mentally Technically Physically Physically, it’s a pretty easy one to gauge, providing the athlete keeps in his/her best shape. They’ll slowly start to decline in their late twenties, and this will usually speed up drastically in their later 30’s. Technically, well that depends on training, when they get into boxing etc etc. However, I think it’s fair to say that around 31 years of age Povetkin was technically at his best, given his amateur and professional time in the sport. That just leaves mentally. I don’t know him, so it’s guess work. apologies for the long winded answer.
Will look even worse for Whyte if he is ko'd by an already over the hill covid emergency room patient.
