Many years after getting played with like a kitten by Southpaw Tyson Fury, the only fight Chisora had to be pulled out for his own good. Pulev is a shot vessel and never no nowhere near Furys level, But Pulevs leftnhand will probably make Chisora blind.
12-loss Dereck Chisora is very overrated. He's not much more than a human punching bag at this time. Boxrec has him at #9 heavyweight, but have undefeated Kabayel who beat him at #25 and Pulev who also beat him at #18.
If more fighters fought as good competition as him, more would have 12 losses, and it wouldn't be a bad thing. I think he's rated about right. He's obviously rated on boxrec due to his wins since those losses, but no one takes boxrec rankings that seriously anyway.
I think its ridiculous they keep giving this guy fights against top opponents, there so many heavyweight prospects that could get noticed. There is absolutely nothing about him that stands out except he looks homeless. What is even his best win? David Price? Carlos Takam?
The guys he lost to were already rated higher than him, so it won't hurt his rating much. It's just an algorithm, they change it a lot, and it often gives weird results. For a period James Toney and Young Stribling were top 10 all time Heavyweights on that site. Wilder is currently P4P top 10 on it, which is just laughable.
Looking forward to this one, hopefully Pulev has another jab clinic. I wouldn't be surprised if this looked similar to the Dimitrenko and Ustinov fights in it's onesidedness.
They are not "giving" him anything. He wants them and that makes him an anomaly. At the same time, a majority of top heavyweights (young and old) are ducking opponents left and right.
