It would be funny to see the reactions from Oscar fans hyping this as a big win, but I don't want to see Stevie get the 2 pounds knocked out of him.

If Oscar cant knock him out Hatton definately cant.

At 140 Forbes would be a world champion.

Different style different power different fight. You don't think Hatton can hurt Forbes with Body shots? Oscar ain't his old self, he fought that fight to throw combinations and win rounds he didn't commit to his punches over the course of 12 rounds in terms of power. Hatton commits to his punches for 12 nonstop straight rounds. Either way I'd love to see what Forbes got at 140lbs, I still don't think he can beat Hatton. And I think Hatton punishes him with body shots.

Forbes was fighting way too high. And personally he didnt fight like he normally does IMO. I think he got a nice paycheck and Oscar and GBP probably promised him a big fight down the road. But I dont think Steve fought to his potential

Or until he gases out and starts to clinch the rest of the fight....
Hattons punch is nothing at 147 at 140 its a little more but Forbes proved he could take DLH's shots at 150 so he should have no problem taking Hattons shots at 140.

I completely disagree. Hatton's leverage at 140lbs is incredible, I am 100% positive that Hatton can generate power more per punch than De La Hoya did in the fight this past weekend. DLH isn't his old self and he wasn't commiting to any single punch, he was focusing on speed and combinations - you don't generate much power this way and you guys are blowing DLH's punching power in his fight with Forbes out of the water!!! Trust me!!! Forbes will feel Hatton's power to be more significant at 140lbs than he felt when he faced DLH at 150lbs.

I don't really think it would matter much actually.

I mean Hopkins lost twice to Jermain Taylor. Pavlik then comes along and destroys the guy, yet Hopkins is still rated higher then Pavlik on the P4P.

I know that DLH wasnt fully commiting to his punches and yes he was working more on speed but to say that Hatton can generate more power than DLH is just insane. First of all Hatton would have a hell of a time just hitting Forbes cleanly and second of all he would be working way to hard to land cleanly and we all know that Hatton tends to gass out towards the end of fights.

Hatton cannot generate more power then Delahoya. Can you imagine Ricky Hatton dropping Vargas with a left hook? I can't. What about Ricky Hatton flooring Mayorga with a left hook? Yeah, me neither.

the question is can Hatton generate more power relative to the 140 weightclass compared to the current Oscar at 150lbs
