Imagine If Ali Had Frazier's Chin..?

70s Ali had a better chin than 60s Ali.
Frazier's chin was similar to that of Ali, give or take 10%.

 

Then Muhammad Ali would have heard Howard Cosell saying, Down Goes Ali against George Foreman. As great as Joe Frazier was, his chin was also suspect, he went down twice in the same round against Oscar Bonavena on Sept 21 1966, then obviously against George Foreman in 1973 and 1976.

 

I still remember that fight, it won me $ 20.00 that night, but I was sure shocked at the ending of the fight.

 

I was watching The Doris Day Show on CBS when the bottom of the television, the marque showed the result, George Foreman knocked Down Champion Joe Frazier 6 Times Enroute To A TKO 2 To Win The World Heavyweight Title. I jumped for joy. The Next day I I collected my crisp $20. 00 bill from my classmate Jim. E.

 

I disagree his chin was suspect. The way I look at his bouts against Foreman, is "anyone hit like that is going down. Question is who's getting up"? I think it's a VERY exclusive class, certainly no more than 10 people.

 

Oh, but you see, Joe Frazier was the black equivalent of Terry Daniels, Richard Dunn, Ingemar Johansson...and no more resilient than Floyd Patterson...revisionism has everybody & their grandmother able and likely to deck Frazier in any random hypothetical contest.
As a side issue, but related to the subject at hand,...those fanatical Ali worshippers out there are quick to supply their hero with all kinds of attributes..some he had...and some that he didn't have...like superior punching power...and the strange thing here,is that the guy who he fought 3 times, in a grand total of 31 rounds...yes, that's right, that would be one "Smokin' Joe Frazier"...you know, the one with the collapsible glass chin...never hit the deck once. Now, what lkind of an anomaly is that??

What if Lewis had Ali's chin (with Ali also having Ali"s chin)? Does Lewis dethrone the greatest on the atg list?

 

He did have it. Their chins were equal..Frazier just had to take more clean shots because Ali had other assets. Muhammad was able to protect his better.. Ali took a great punch but he would talk about Frazier's ability to take a punch and say "he ain't normal."

There's no world in which I can see Ali being knocked out by a single punch.
