Seriously, the H/W landscape would be a lot different right now, The Klitschko's would of been like John Ruiz, having a title shot and getting beaten every year.

    such a shame

Much missed excitement. Doomed to endure boredom and mediocrity.
We're in limbo until the Boxing Anti-Christs are expunged.

I was just watching old Ibeabuchi fights like 3 days ago. Hard to say that he'd be dominating the division right now but he would've had as good a chance as anyone else.

Ike's legacy IMO is the Tua fight. Tua had 12 rounds to show something against Lewis and couldn't do much, and regularly got beat up sparring with Golota. Ike is "Tua" level, not Lennox Lewis level. IMO Adamek takes Ike thru the distance.

No, Lewis would of knocked him James Toney dumb!

Exactly. Nice to see there are people around who recognize how ridiculously overrated Ibeabuchi is. He had TWO fights against live bodies, one of which he arguably lost. He isn't EVEN Tua-level.

Ibeabuchi barely beat David Tua who was thoroughly dominated by a tall Lennox Lewis. He would have no chance defeating Vitali, puncher's chance vs. Wladimir if that.

I agree with you entirely- but in this division people are praying that Tua will be able to regain some form and make some noise.

Face it- you would take him if he was here.

I don't always make the right predictions but I know some facts and know the sport well enough to see the obvious.

    cheers

Tua blows. In other words, overrated.

People knocking Ibeabuchi should take a second look at him. Those questioning his level of competition, the guy had what like 19 or 20 fights? He had 2 good names on his resume, one of which (Bryd) would become champ a few years later. How many quality names did the Klits have in 20 fights?

I'm not saying Ike was the next Tyson, but he was coming up at the same time as the Klits and had just as good of chance of taking over the division when Lewis retired in 03. His chin was damn good, how many can say they went punch for punch with a prime Tua and was still standing by the final bell? Let alone get the best of him in most exchanges?

Ike had a good chin, good power, true heavyweight size, and a killer instinct. Two out of 4 attributes that Wlad doesn't posses. I feel he would of beat Wlad quite easily before 2005, when chances are they would of met. ****, Peter had him bouncing all over the ring in 05. I'm sure a much better overall fighter in Ike would of had him out before the 6th round.

First good post to follow mine (second post) that understands boxing and not whining like a little ***** about "barely beat Tua", "Only two fights" bs, etc. wah-wah-wah.

Clearly Iabucchi was improving with each fight, facing entirely different styles and showing the ability to adapt and win.
Iabucchi could have become a much better fighter then we saw in the Tua and Byrd fights.
He would have definitely KO'ed the fat Peters by body shot and totally destroyed some soft contenders like Eddie Chambers or Tony Thompson. :smoke
