Imagine if you were an NBA fan but the East could never play the west because the owners didn't like each other.

Imagine not being able to see a LeBron vs Kobe match up or a Celtics vs Lakers game on Christmas day. Would that be accepted ?

Its hard as a boxing fight having to deal with this bull**** that is going on right now with boxing.

Is it me, or do you guys find your selfs after every fight saying "Wow, the winner of this fight will problably, or at least should fight this guy or that guy." Then to only realize that they are on different promotional companies and there is no way the fight will happen. That instead, we have to settle for whoever is the next best in that same promotional company.

This sucks, we the fans are missing out on some of the best fight of the decade because of this bull****. And in the case of Pacquiao vs Mayweather, we are not missing out, we missed out already, on one of the best match ups of all time.

It's a market failure (take note, libertarians).

As long as you have a situation where Promoter A can make X amount of money without Promoter B, you have a situation where there's a disincentive for cooperation unless any cross-promotion is capable of making at least 2X. Note that, provided both promoters have superstar fighters for which X is sufficiently high, the probability of a potential cross-promotion decreases, as a sufficiently-high X implies a saturated or near-saturated market to begin with, leaving less headroom for a cross-promotion to exploit.

    :deal

Its really not right. Most other sports if not all are run w/ out different promoters or different top titles up for grabs.
