Would that be good or bad for the sport? and good or bad for Top Rank and Golden Boy?

I think everyone would benefit. Except for Shaw, Goosen, DiBella and their fighters.

I'd rather wait for (With all respect) Arum to die...
Then Golden Boy will take over the game.
They will create their own league & well.... we will see
    I have said to much

It's going to happen, The countdown is already in place.
    HBO has GB's back.

I think a huge issue in boxing is Arum. I don't think that if GBP and DiBella, Shaw, Warren etc., were trying to put a fight together, there would be many issues. The problem is that Arum is so greedy. Too greedy.

I think in the last few years, it really has hurt the sport. Not even just his reluctance to make certain fights, but his absolute stubbornness to negotiate with other promoters. He is far too happy to protect his assets and he can because he has so many fighters. In a way, he's monoplising a few divisions because of the quality he has, especially Pacquiao.

I'm not against the Top Rank cards but you just know he isn't going to really risk it, unless he has no other options. It's very dissapointing.

I hope Arum leaves boxing soon. He seems to have tried to maximise profits in the last couple of years, so hopefully this is a sign of his indication to leave boxing soon. I think boxing would be in better hands with GBP, DiBella and the other younger promoters, than these out dated, greedy, criminals like King, Shaw and Arum.

It's just boxing as a whole though. Certain aspects are out dated. Arum represents some of the worst aspects of the game, sadly.

A merge would be good. I hope when Arum leaves the sport, his contracts are cancelled and his fighters go to promoters who will look out for the sport, not just their own welfare. Generally, what's good for boxing is good for the promoter, but because Arum has so much depth, he's hurt boxing to line his pockets, which is the big issue with him.

It's a shame though because he's been great for boxing in the past. As much as I dislike him, so has King. It's only recently they've chanted their outlook, which isn't great for boxing. Thankfully King has no strength in boxing now and I hope Arum soon follows him.

Having one massive promotional company with the backing of boxing's biggest tv network, with ownership stakes over the sports most respected publication to boot, they'd be able to dictate to and manipulate all the other rival factions. That can't be good for boxing. You'd have fighters being frozen out, fights not being made, and more money going to that company's fighters and alot less for everyone else. We've seen recently Top Rank and GBP preferring to stay inhouse for their PPVs and not only do the fans suffer, so does the sport. Nope, don't like the idea of it.

Talk about a monopoly. If these two merge, there'll be too many chiefs and not enough indians.

The larger the promotional companies get, the easier for it is for them to milk fighters... on the other hand it makes it easier for us to see fights. Think of the UFC where Dana White has enough power to pay his fighters peanuts.
