Imagine if Wladimir Klitschko ducked Tyson Fury and David Haye rather than face them?

Once upon a time Tyson Fury was a contender and Wlad gave him his shot. Wlad also unified the majority of the titles against David Haye. Surely Tyson Fury can give Wlad's countryman (who holds the majority of the belts) an opportunity to prove himself against the lineal and WBC heavyweight champion? It's also denying boxing fans an opportunity to see another undisputed heavyweight champion be crowned. A feat which hasn't been achieved since Lennox Lewis won the accolade against Evander Holyfield.

There was no reason for him to duck either Haye was a Cruiserweight moving up to Heavyweight, he was all mouth and Wladimir see straight through him.

Fury was a big underdog and had not shown in any of his previous fights, that he could beat someone like Wladimir even at his age.

In those circles where there's so much money involved people know whats up and Wladimir Klitschko knows exactly why Haye wanted no part of Fury. Look what Chisora did to his aging brother and look what Fury did to Chisora in their second fight.

Well Haye KO'ed Chisora in 5 rounds, which is quicker than what Fury managed to do in 3 fights.

Imagine if Wlad-Haye and Wlad-Fury were "remotely" entertaining? ;)

Having sat through both exactly ONCE ... and never wanting to watch either of them again in their entirety ... if Fury-Usyk is going to be as dull as those two fights were, I think we can pass on it.

But Chisora was competitive up until the knockout outside of Fury's first meeting with Chisora their next two outings were like sparring sessions for Fury

Well atleast Haye only fought Chisora once after stopping him, unlike Fury feeling the need to fight him 3 times for some reason.

One time at British level, once at European level. You can argue that their 3rd fight was unnecessary, but Fury on record promised he would give Chisora a third fight and it happened at World level. That makes sense to me. What doesn't is Fury's unwillingness to fight Usyk. It's a no brainer to me there's a lot of money involved. Fury if victorious will then tick off the last accolade missing on his resume. Being undisputed heavyweight champion. Then we can realistically debate whether or not Tyson Fury is an ATG. Just my opinion.

Fury was Wlads mandatory not like Fury has ducked a mandatory is it. Literally a unification and Usyk is just as much yo blame for it not happening.

Never fought Valuev, never rematched Sanders, waited years to rematch Brewster etc. Flack Fury gets is unjustified just wait see what happens next year or two before people jump the gun and criticise.

Wlad would be regarded more highly today if he'd said that he would retire at 40, vacated his WBA and WBO belts post-Jennings and had a farewell fight/homecoming in Ukraine against IBF mandatory Glazkov. 65-3, 19 consecutive defences over 10 years. He would have got stick for vacating rather than facing No.1 contender Fury but people would have understood that it had to end eventually.

Instead he got schooled by Fury in his backyard in a fight where he broke an all-time record for fewest punches landed against a contender. Then he fought Joshua 17 months later and despite performing far better than expected, managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

This isn't to say that the Fury-Usyk situation is comparable. But if Wlad could rewind the clock I imagine he'd have chosen a different path. He didn't get much credit for taking on the best fighters he could even towards or at the end of his career.

Wlad not fighting Fury wouldn't have been seen as a duck. Wlad basically saw fighting Fury as an easy cherry pick of an opponent whose only wins of note were a points win against 'The Kingpin' and Chisora. It's the same reason Waldo didn't make a big deal out of Fury failing a drugs test prior to the fight. He didn't think it would matter.
