He definitely had better footwork, he probably still have edge on that department, though he abuse his weight terribly, and not keeping fight shape all year round. But AJ had high guard and very tight underrated defense. AJ also improve his upper body movement tremendously, and people still not giving him credit for that. Same for his footwork that are great, but against Usyk you can't see it.
As far as Fury hitting harder than AJ, nice joke. You make me laugh hard at that.
Anyway Fury vs Usyk fight will tell us a lot, just like Fury vs AJ if it happen and i think that fight will happen sooner or latter.

The only fighter that fury has ever fought with even close to the skill level of USYK was Vladimir, and he was on the tail end of his career with reflexes clearly diminished

so this would be the biggest test fury has ever taken on

If a pound shop version of Usyk (Otto Wallin) can give Fury fits then imagine what the GOAT will do to him.

Wladimir threw 200 punches that fight, that was not his night. He was terrible. He looked way better against AJ. Still both version was old washed Wladimir.

Compare that to the 800-1000 punches Usyk will throw at Fury.

And people judge Fury by Wilder wins and think he can do same with Usyk. :zpong:

People do the same with Usyk against Joshua. I am talking about his heavyweight performance so far.

Most of the Usyk fans are doing it.

Neither Tokio Douglas or Andy Ruiz had chances.

Getting tired of hearing Fury fans act like he's some unbeatable fighter. Those Wilder wins have shrunk your brains into thinking he's superman and he's not, he's very beatable and sloppy.

I'd be very surprised if this doesn't turn out to be Fury's toughest fight yet. Nothing suggests that Usyk will be an easy night. We're looking at a bit of Cunningham, a bit of Wallin plus an absolute shitload of quality. Usyk are levels above these guys and they still provided Fury with issues. Cunningham found it fairly easy to counter a younger and lighter version of Fury, and Usyk would have a field day with the kind of open arm punching that is on display at times in just about all of Fury's fights.

Fury must keep to a very disciplined double jab with a right cross coming behind and cut angles. If it gets into midrange, Usyk will eat him alive. Fury's jab and one-two are great weapons due to the combination of speed and, especially, reach, but his mid-range game is average at best and very overrated. Most of his hooks and uppercuts are arms punches with no bending at the knees and the other hand dropping. Usyk will love that if he manages to get to that range. Fury's only option then is to wrestle, but I doubt he'll get a hold of Usyk often enough even if the ref allows those tactics.

The only time Fury stepped up to CW Level at the world level he went life and death against a CW who isn't fit to lace Usyk's son's boots. In fact, he still to this day considers it his hardest fight ever

These are the results of his other fights against CWs

    W-PTS 8 Zack Page
    W-RET 4 Lee Swaby
    W-RET 4 Sefer Seferi

“Believe it or not, this is gonna sound strange – Cunningham was the hardest fight I ever did have in my whole career, amateur or professional.

“The reason being he was very slippery.

“The way I explain Cunningham – it was like a Conger Eel all full of oil in front of me.

    “I couldn’t pin him down.

“He was light on his feet, he was weighing 208lbs or something.

“He was a three-time cruiserweight champion and then he stepped up into the heavyweights.

“He was a slick, talented boxer and I tried to walk him down using my size and power, but he was just outboxing me.

“What I’m good at – boxing, moving, slipping and sliding – I couldn’t do against Steve Cunningham because he was quicker than me.

“It was like he was a better boxer all round than me.

“I couldn’t do nothing with him, and he knocked me over even though he was a light puncher supposedly.

“I walked right onto it, it came from the back of the hall, big overhand right, right on the chin.

Usyk would handle Tommy Fury a lot easier than Tyson will handle Usyk, please don`t use that bum`s name in the same sentence as the best P4P fighter on the planet.

Yep. And Wallin had his success with counters as well.

Wlad wasn't someone who would slip and counter or catch and counter. He mostly preyed on fighters with shorter height and reach, timing them when they tried to get in. Even before their fight I felt he would have problems with Fury, a taller fighter that's very good at boxing from a distance.

Wilder, is of course, very short in terms of well rounded boxing skill. He also thrives on shorter fighters that have to come to him.

Whyte, believe it or not, would count among the better counter punchers Fury has faced, but apart from a pretty good catch and counter with a left uppercut he's nothing special in this regard.

And while Cunningham wasn't any Napoles, his speed and countering was a level or two above the kind of opponents Fury has feasted on and we saw the result of that. Now add another level or two plus a southpaw stance...
