Imagine this guy was a boxer, he imo has heavier hands than tyson (who i dont consider to be a murderous puncher- just a puncher)
    he's only 5'8
his heavy hands reminds me of a george foreman..just watch.
when he hits em they usually out before they hit the ground.

Igor was a beast, but he was too lacking in real technique to be a top notch boxer, even if he did have murderous power. He did NOT hit harder than Tyson though, but then he was a more skilled fighter overall.

According to Zak that guy can't hit at all.

His opponent had a Grade A China Chin though :nod

he wasnt close to tyson, not as a puncher, not in terms of power, technique or being able to throw combinations.. far from.. the average hw hits as hard or harder..

Not too terribly hard to be a murderous puncher when your gloves are multiple times smaller then boxing gloves, on top of your hands being wrapped as well.

Not saying the guy can't bang, but it's relative.

He looks very crude in his technique, i think he'd lose to quite a few mediocre boxers when it's 12 rounds with bigger gloves. His power can't be denied, but more power than Tyson based on what?

You guys should watch his fight with ernesto hoost if you want to see what leg kicks can do to even the strongest of guys.

    this is bs.

he wouldnt be doing that if he had to wear 8 or 10oz gloves and use technique fighting a skilled boxer as an oppenent instead of some overated bar room brawlers like all mma guys are.

do us a favour and WAKE UP!

ya i gotta be honest , i cant stand mma. It's like watching a street fight, with barely any more technique or skill.

There are a few MMA guys who I can watch and be genually impressed , but for the most part , it's like watching a bar room brawl, as you say.

The guy has immense thighs, maybe bigger than Tua's. They look like tree trunks!

He looks to be a God-given puncher, but the above posts do put things into perspective. It's not easy to evaluate someone on a 6 minute clip.

Those are the thickest legs I've ever seen on a fighter. I don't doubt his power could rival the likes of Tyson if he was taught proper technique.

im not talking about igor's skill im talking about his immense power. just picture him at 205 with skill and that kinda power! :yikes

im not gonna sit here and argue about igor having more power than tyson. :nono

but what is true, that that tyson wasnt a murderous/heavy puncher. he was just a puncher, if he hurt you, he would finish you with hard combos.

guys who fought tyson didnt think much of his power when they got hit. guys like green, holmes, thomas. tyson put holmes and thomas away but it was with vicious combos after he hurt them.

holmes has said norton and shavers both hit harder than tyson. berbick didnt think much of his power but was impressed with his combos. pinklon thomas also has said that tommy morrison hit harder than tyson.
tyson wasnt the heaviest puncher, guys like tua or foreman punch way harder!

    peace:thumbsup

I could provide a variety of quotes from fighters who claimed Tyson was a massive puncher.

I don't put much stock into what Holmes said because Tyson beat him. Obviously he's going to pick guys whom HE beat as the best puncher he faced.
Shavers I can understand, but Norton? Come on...
Mitch Green also despised Tyson, so no surprises that he'd claim that.

As for Morrison, well who can say? Tommy had huge power. Mercer claimed Morrison hit harder than Lennox Lewis, so it's not out of the question.
(Of course, note the "I beat the guy who punched harder than the guy I couldn't beat" irony again.)
