what if, in a shocking manner, marquez was able to figure out mayweather and knock him out?

i know it is a long shot, but it could be possible, but what if marquez wins? are we fated to see to 2 biggest rivalries boxing has ever seen?

wow boxing world right now is so damn awesome!

If JMM beat Mayweather then Pac/JMM III would be the most anticipated 3rd fight since Thrilla.

that would be insanely great for the sport. boxing should not have a p4p#1 who'll openly say that he'd rather take his kids bowling than watch a marquee fight. though we all know he did watch and that he did felt a tingling shock to his spine after pac kod hatton much easier than he did

Knock him out? I think that is EXTREMELY, extremely, extremely, EXTREMELY unlikely. But if he were to win, it would pave way for what could arguably be the most anticipated rubber match in history. P4P#1 vs. P4P#2 coming off career-defining victories, after the first two matches were pretty much even, both still in their prime. I really want this to happen.

Ali-Frazier was expected to be an easy Ali win (both were washed up).
Barrera-Morales was big but not like that.
    Duran-Leonard, both were past it.
    Etc.

How I fancy Pac-PBF fight but I think it would be more satisfying if JMM wins and sets up a 3rd fight with Pac and Pac beats him.

JMM is the only guy that seems to have figured Pac out. 2 fights and still Pac could not beat him definitively.

If PBF wins and gets beaten by Pac, Pac would be ranked very high in ATG but he will always have that footnote in his resume about JM.

Great thread....I insist that JMM has a very good shot at Mayweather...Don't think he can stop him tho'...

But on pure balance of skill, this is the closest dude to Floyd's skill set...Pac has power, speed, and athleticism on his side...but for pure technical ability,Maquez has the best shot...his combos are fast, fluid and hard...His only problem is that, mayweather may turn this fight into a snooze-fest by running and keeping it on the outside ala Smoke Gainer...and that's not good news for Marquez.Great chin on him..and with Mayweather's mediocre power...anything's possible.

Said it before...big mistake sleeping on Marquez on this one.He simple just is very gifted.

If JMM beats Mayweather (which I pray he will) it will be a ****ing miracle.

And the rematch with Pac will be the biggest fight, IMO, of the last 25 years. We will be talking about two men who'd belong in the top 25 fighters of all time, duking it out to settle their fantastic rivalry in one last battle.

It would be epic beyond belief.

I said this long long ago, JMM has the best shot at beating PBF. He simply has the skills.

For JMM to be able to be that competitive against Pac shows he should be able to hang in there with Floyd.

People keep saying how much Floyd is but I am sure they will both look the same size come fight night. JMM is really a big guy, even slightly bigger than Pac and Pac fought at 147.

I also said long ago how Pac would KO Corrales at 135 and everybody on this board dismissed it as a complete joke.

I just tried to imagine JMM winning, and seriously I've got a head ache. I feel like if I try to think about JMM beating Mayweather any further, it might rip a hole in the space time continuum.

It will be a great rivalry alright but I do no think JMM is up there yet at top 25. He only picked up his level of opposition very recently.

Although his wins over Diaz and Casa are huge achievements, to date, his biggest achievement is still the close fights with Pac, whom he has not beaten officially on records.

hmm says... I'VE SAID THIS weeks ago a few times and people thought i was high. If JMM wins, this will be one of the biggest fights and trilogies in history. Too many people counting JMM out cause it's PBF.

Pac vs JMM III = two rivalries about 7 years in the making fighting to see who is the best and who really is P4P #1
