It would be a chess match at a very high technical level. And probably a very difficult fight to score (since a knock out is almost impossible in that kind of fight).
I think Mijares would overwhelm him. Although he's not a particularly big puncher, as has already been said he's way too big and I think he would cause Calderon problems with his skill and speed and overwhelm him with hise size. I would go for Mijares TKO around 7/8.
Too bad there is nobody at 105lbs for good fight with Calderon. Thats the only reason he is fighting @108
Yeah that's true. There's a lot of contenders at 105 but no real stand out fighter(s). I mean there's Garcia, Rachman, Nietes, Niida, Condes etc but none of those fighters really stand out from the rest and none are well-known enough. At 108 at least he's got a fight with Solis but that doesn't look likely to happen really. I mean technically he's good enough to fight compete with likes of Donaire and Mijares but he's just too small to be able to compete with them in an overall package.
Mijares is alot bigger and just an all-round better fighter, I'd expect him to stop him relatively quickly. Even if they were the same size I'd still favour Mijares comfortably. Calderon should be looking for a fight with the likes of Solis or other 108 title holders.
