Interesting how we are trying to write history.....which is fun....but just that nobody know...a number of these fights the results were watershed moments for the boxers involved.... Tyson spiral downfall has started...the aura of invisibility was shattered by a better, stranger opponent at his peak that wrote the mod on how to beat Tyson.... A rematch with the same condition for Douglass would have resulted in and earlier KO FOR Tyson, the jab of Douglass impossible to defend for Tyson. ODLH felt Tito's power and starting the marathon run that ultimately cause him the fight. He got it on his mind that Tito can and will hurt him, by the same Tito knew he could hurt him...but can let ODLH be first and stick and move . This would have been a fascinating and intriguing rematch which in all honesty I see Tito pushing ODLH for 12 drawling rounds for the victory, with perhaps. KD in the late middle round to solidify the decision! Vlad would have taken the rematch as he did on his previous avenges. Lewis would have beaten fragile Vitali Kosta Tszyu would have double our viewing pleasure with yet another chicken dance! And Danny would have KO Khan, Khan can't beat Danny under any circumstances!
Tyson KO Douglas Tho Buster did fight the fight of his career and dedicated it to the passing of his mother, he was never consistent. Oscar UD12 Tito Oscar without a doubt beat Tito and won't have trouble winning unless he had the same judges or took on Tito at 160, where Tito was still a force and Oscar wasn't. Sanders TKO Wlad I'd like to pick Wlad, but he has always had trouble with aggressive power punchers. Sanders seemed to be the last legit power puncher he's faced willing to go down on his shield as I don't consider Haye as much of a threat as Sanders was as Haye was safety first and one punch at a time type of fighter. Lewis-Vitali DRAW Lewis was getting outboxed most of the time in the first match, but he was on the verge of stopping Vitali himself before the actual stoppage. Lewis tends to do better in rematches so he'd be in better shape. At this point I still think Vitali outworks the aging legend, but Lewis would land the cleaner shots. Lewis's experience being in wars would be the difference as Vitali rarely gets pushed to the brink like that, tho he has alot of heart. Anyone's fight. Tzsyu UD12 Judah Judah the first fight was handling Tszyu pretty well before he got timed with a monster of a right hand. I think he'd play safety first in a rematch, but by the second half Tszyu starts to time him and we all know Judah mentally isn't the strongest so he starts breaking down mentally and physically. Tszyu drops him along the way and dominates a Judah that just wants to survive. Khan SD12 Garcia Whenever Khan wasn't standing trading with Garcia he was dominating him from the outside. Tho he got dropped hard, he got back up and lost on a questionable stoppage. At that point had Khan neutralized Garcia's left hook he'd won easily, but Khan ass talented and ungodly fast as he was, was never technically that good, reason he went to hell and back with a pre Robert Garcia Maidana and lost to Garcia. Doesn't take a genius to know Garcia's left hook is the only thing you have to watch out for. Khan seemed to have brainfarts or loss of concentration as the fight went into later rounds as well as tiring, very much like Judah.
Tyson vs Douglas - Tyson TKO 6 ODLH vs Trinidad - Another close fight with Tito landing better punches this time around due to Oscar engaging more , But the controversy surrounding the first fight will allow Oscar to scraped by Tito the second time around . Oscar 115/113 Sanders vs Wlad - Can go either way but Ima go with Wlad by decision . Lewis vs Vitali - TOSS UP . Lewis in rematches was always intense and hungry but then again this Version of Lewis was already past his prime . Tszyu vs Judah - Judah will fight very cautious and will be hesitant to engage at times in the first half of the fight which will lose him rnds , Yet he will definitely have his moments . I see Tszyu coming in strong in the 2nd half of the fight and really taking it to Judah . This fight will go the distance . 114/114 DRAW Khan vs Garcia - Khan EASILY 117-111 . Fight might be boring though .
Tyson vs Douglas > Douglas KO ODLH vs Trinidad > Trinidad UD Sanders vs Wlad > Wlad KO Lewis vs Vitali > Vitali KO Tszyu vs Judah > Judah UD Khan vs Garcia > Garcia KO ( glass mandible Khan already shattered )
douglas (said it back then, too, when the popular opinion was that tyson would easily win the rematch). dlh (showed himself to be the better all-around boxer in their first fight, even though he didn't get the decision). wlad (he would adapt). lewis (always better in rematches). tszyu (no explanation necessary). garcia (khan, fragile mind).
Tyson Vs. Douglas = Tyson by TKO/KO ODLH vs Trinidad = De La Hoya by UD Sanders Vs. Wlad = Wlad by UD Lewis Vs. Vitali = Vitali by UD Tszyu Vs. Judah = Tszyu by TKO/KO Khan Vs. Garcia = Garcia by TKO/KO
I'd take Tyson over Douglas. That night was the perfect storm for Douglas and his motivation was at a level that it would never reach again. I think he'd come into the rematch overweight (or at least not in the kind of shape he was) and most probable get knocked out. I think Tito beats Oscar, especially if the rematch happened at 154 which would help him greatly. More importantly, Oscar would be more attacking and engage more after the huge backlash from their first fight. That would play into Tito's hands. UD for Trinidad. I'd have to lean towards Sanders. I'm not sure Wlad could recover psychologically from the way he was destroyed in the first fight. Maybe if he had a few fights in between but an immediate rematch? I'll go with a Sanders ko. I'd go with Lewis to win a decision. He'd obviously show up in much better shape and highly motivated. It would be another absolute war but I think an improved Lewis has enough to take the decision. Tszyu wins by ko again. It only took him one round to adjust to Zab's speed in the first fight before he started to time him and repeatedly land that straight-right in the second. It probably lasts a little longer but Kostya stops him every time. Of all theses mythical rematches, this is the one I'm most confident in. I'm not sure with Khan-Garcia. Logic would say that Garcia loses the first couple of rounds again as he tries to adjust to Amir's speed before starting to turn it around. I'd edge towards that happening and Danny getting a stoppage in the second half of the fight but if Amir fights with the intelligence and restraint he showed against Collazo? I can see him winning a decision.
Tyson vs Douglas - Tyson KO. Tyson comes in better prepared, while Douglas finds the distractions of being a champion too much and shows up in worse shape like he did throughout the rest of his career. ODLH vs Trinidad - In reality Oscar won the first fight, this time round he's a little more aggressive and Tito is still unable to deal with the movement and speed of De La Hoya and Oscar gets the decision he deserved first time around. Sanders vs Wlad - Sanders KO. Wlad was simply too flawed a fighter back then, he simply didn't have the tools to beat a fighter who could beat him to the punch with power and speed. An immediate rematch would not allow him the time to improve or deal with the psychological shock of the KO in the first fight. Wlad may last a couple more rounds this time as he has a more careful approach but it just delays the inevitable. Lewis vs Vitali - Lewis TKO. Vitali has lost the element of surprise this time around, Lewis knows what he has in front of him. I no longer think Lewis had the hunger of old but he still shows up at 90% and that's enough to win another hard fought fight. Vitali didn't seem to have the power to pull of a shock quick KO, he hit Lewis flush and still couldn't put him down. Also cuts could still be an issue, he was cut in the same place over the eye against Sanders, I could see another stoppage on cuts. Tszyu vs Judah - Tszyu KO. Judah lacks the durability while Tszyu has the one punch power and timing to get to him at some point and when he does it's all over. Khan vs Garcia - Khan back then and still maybe a massively flawed fighter. An immediate rematch would see him with Roach again and that version of Khan is too easily countered. He might last longer and even be up on the scorecards late in the fight but he'll get caught again and stopped.
Even at 154 , where Trinidad was even stronger and had more brutal Knockout power . I still don't see him knocking out Oscar . Goldenboy had an extremely solid chin . At best , Tito MAYBE could score an off balance knockdown . Still I would not bet on that to happen .
