He's benefitted for along time though. Not necessarily a "victim".

Plant should take the fight no matter what Haymon says, he won't make this kind of money fighting anyone else

Because Al Haymon/Fox want to be major chess players in the sport and check-mate other fighters and their opponents into signing long term deals thereby tying them up and controlling their futures.

    Canelo wont lose his belts

Plant probably will unless he take a voluntary defence

Canelo should just keep busy in the meantime and the unification can happen in Cinco de Mayo or maybe before then in 2022.

He royally screwed over Peter Quillin and several other fighters.

Cant blame Al, he knows Plant is getting beat up and belt taken

Likewise can't blame Canelo for not wanting such a deal

Its a big reason as to why he went solo

He seems comfortable with Hearn working for him anyhow

Haymon is the worst promoter in boxing history. Total sleazeball. Plant should take this in his own hands and tell Al go to hell.

Do anyone want to see Canelo vs Plant? It’s a mismatch to me, I rather see Benavidez beat up Plant and then Canelo vs Benavidez. I want to see someone actually challenge Canelo, I’m tired of seeing him fighting fighters we already know he going to beat.

Clenelo might be an undisputed at 168 lbs with 1 fight if he will beat Plant.
If they will offer more than 15m to Plant, I think they might had get fight vs Plant this year.
Looks too much? Nope, not likely anyone will pay him even 1 m after this fight if Canelo will win.
If Plant will not KO Canelo, he will lost not only fight, also all his career, undefeated boxers or bums etc culture.

For Caleb Plant? That would be holding the belt hostage. Triple or quadruple Plants career high earnings and call it a day. Give Haymon 2-3 of the 6 undercard slots to showcase a couple guys. Seems like a can't lose position of negotiating for Haymon/Plant since they are in the lottery spot and they seem like they could screw it up somehow.

Sounds like Haymon taking care of Plant the way he did Peter Quillin

Well, if it is widely posted in media how much shot Kovalev get from fight vs Canelo then.

There is very big difference: fight vs Kovalev didn't made him an undisputed and he even trimmed down from 175 lbs after this, looks possible opponents were not enough shot or old then.

Here: just 1 fight vs Plant and 168 lbs undisputed division champ : this is more notable for Canelo legacy than Kovalev fight for sure.
For these popular in US ATG and HOF talks too this looks very lucrative.
