IMO Hrgovic emerges as the top HW after all of the dust settles

I doubt it, the Zhang fight showed he isn't head a shoulders above everyone and lets not forget Joshua easily beat Zhang in the Olympics, so he might be a level below the likes of Joshua, Usyk and Fury if Fury has anything left.

For Hrgovic to become the number 1 in the division he will have to wait for guys like Fury, Usyk and Joshua to retire and even then there's no guarantee. He's not difficult to hit, even the slow Joyce never had a probably landing regularly on him in the WSB, he's not very effective on the back foot and is predominantly a forward momentum fighter who's good when he's on top but struggles when he actually has an opponent who can stand there and fight back. Guys like Zhang, Parker, even Joyce would all give him tough competitive fights.

Hrgovic needs to show more than he has for me to claim him the next dominant champion. He's a good fighter no doubt but is he a great one I guess time will tell.

 

I highly doubt anybody in the current scene will be able to achieve Klitschko esque dominance. It can't be done in every era, hell I doubt a prime Wlad himself wouldn't have been able to dominate this era like he did in his own.

 

Hrgo? Maybe, you never know. Zhang improved since their fight, and maybe Hrgo has also improved. However, he hasn't allowed himself to develop much further with his weak opposition. And yes, we fully understand that he doesn't want to lose his status to fight for the soon-to-be vacant belt assuming Usyk-Duckson have a rematch. But I do believe that in the near future with decent opposition (Parker, Joyce, Zhang II, even Wilder), his confidence would grow, along with his HW reputation.

You mean after Usyk is gone? How old is Hrgovic? Him and Joseph Parker are like the two youngest in the top 10 right? Yeah pretty much everyone else is like pushing 40 so that could be accurate.

Hrgovic got almost all what You need to be great Hw. He got skills, size, punching power and chin.
One thing he dont have is good carrer manager because to be honest I have no idea why nobody spend more cash on him already.

This stupid talk about Zhang fight robbery ... Pls just watch it again without audio and focus on replay (why they often show Zhang landing only) and if You still think that was robbery just help Yourself with pure math (check punching stats)

And what Zhang class is show You all two fights with "super though Joyce" whos was already in some fans ranking numero 2....

Only think I want from Filip is
1. Work heavier on strenght. He looks weak sometimes and he should be stronger with his size
2. Start fight with better opposition. He often got terrible opponents who make him looks worse than he really is (because they turn of from him and give him back side of the head after taking first good shoot- De Morii and Molina)

 

Hrgovic's best win by far is Zhang. The fight was as it is. I would award a draw. However, Zhang cannot hope to win. And Hrgović did not lose definitively.
It was only after that fight that Zhang became a superstar with two wins over Joe Joyce, which are also his two best wins; convincingly.
So from that point of view it can be said:

 

The dude looks lackluster in every fight he's in, so I hope he is not the future of the division. IMO it's only a matter of time before he's on the receiving side of an upset ala Makhmudov last week.

If he had dominated Zhang, and Zhang still went on to beat Joyce, I'd believe you.

Unfortunately...

 

He hasn’t shown me enough for me to believe that he’ll dominate the division. And I think most of the top 10 can all beat each other. If/when Tyson and Usyk retires, the belts will keep changing hands in my opinion.

 

I hope not, because he is B level at best compared to Usyk, Fury, AJ, even Parker, Zhang, Dubois, and even with the likes of Sanchez, Kabayel, Jared Anderson.

So no, he's not at the top. I guess the IBF has him as a mandatory to winner of Usyk-Fury, either of whom would end his trajectory up in the rankings.
