IMO, if Cotto wants wants to redeem himself he has to fight a Paul Williams...

It's a bad match-up for Cotto, Paul Williams looked huge when he fought Margo who himself looked huge against Cotto.

I think Margo Vs Williams II is a more interesting fight, I'm actually not sure who would win it this time.

I don't see how Cotto/Margarito is especially relevant to Cotto/Williams. Williams has been tagged in numerous fights, even taking more clean shots early in Quintana II. And he looked awful in their first fight. He also took a fair amount of punishment from Margarito and got tagged even by the likes of Matthyse and Sharma Mitchell.

Moreover, he has a very long torso that would make for a great target for Cotto's body punching.

I agree that he'd trouble Cotto with his reach and workrate, but I think Miguel has enough class to handle the offense, just as Quintana did. What this boils down to is whether one believes Williams could walk through Cotto's power.

As for Cotto's health, I share your concern. All this assumes that he'll regain peak form, and based on the other night, we really don't know. He didn't get hit much early, but the damage done to his face was borderline grotesque.

Quintana got knocked out in the first round the last time they fought. I don't that is handling the mans offense...

I was referring to the first fight, of course. To be clear, I'm a Williams fan and have followed him for a long time. There aren't many A-grade fighters from my region.

But this Cotto matchup always struck me as the worst for him, including Mayweather, whom I believe PW might beat due to reach and constant volume.
