IMO, NO WAY rematch happens next. Sep 2018 is when it happens...

    Both make mandatories & the fight gets made a year from now

    No, not cause either is scared...

    Just business wise think it makes more sense...

    Canelo has already said he's not fighting until next May. I don't think GGG will have the same layoff, could be wrong though. I'd like to see him claim that last belt next.

    It's funny mayweather was crucified for supposedly waiting to fight an older pac, but now you got the mexican mayweather doing the same thing.

    I don't mind as long as Canelo fights another top MW in May 2018.

    Basically the acceptable list for both fighters' interims is something: Jacobs, Lemiuex, Charlo, Derevyanchenko, BJS, maybe Andrade (he's moving up to 160 lb probably), Lara or Murata is OK too.

    fine with me.

    in the meantime. Canelo could fight Lemieux, Cotto or Jacobs in May
    and GGG could fight Saunders or rematch Jacobs next.

    and if both are still victorious , they fight in Sept 2018

    Jacobs would stop GGG if they fought again. Especially Last night. Golovkin looked super slow and beatable.

    I doubt he'd stop him (IMHO Canelo hit GGG harder than Jacobs did), but I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Jacobs won on the cards.

    How does waiting make sense? This is the kind of result and fight that should demand an immediate rematch. It's stupid to only fight on the Mexican holidays twice a year, but after the rest they both say they want February should be right. But if Canelo says he's not returning till May I guess it has to be May. GGG should take a February tune-up, 8 months off is too long for him. Not rematching by May is totally unnacceptable. If they don't it likely won't happen, like Tito-Oscar.

    Not fighting until May is exactly what Canelo/Oscar want. It won't hurt Canelo being young and prime, but the ring rust should hurry the decline of Golovkin. The further out the date, the better Canelo's chances in the rematch. I would be surprised if Goldenboy didn't also put a clause in the contract that Golovkin isn't allowed to fight anybody in the meantime for a tune up which could "endanger his health" or put the belts in hazard for their fight next year. Of course, the alphabet organizations also might want him to fight a mandatory or something or they might strip him.

    Golovkin don't need canelo anymore. Most everyone thought he won. Ko Saunders then one more fight to break middleweight record, then retire.

    As much as I dislike Mayweather he at least rematch his controversial victories right away (Maidana and Castillo). Canelo is going to wait another year hoping GGG declines even more. This BS about making sense business wise is just that BS. CANELO IS THE "A SIDE", REMEMBER? And he will sell regardless of when he fights. Cheerleaders like the OP are hoping GGG declines more so Canelo can have a win next time around and won't need the judges help. They thought GGG was a bum because he fought nobody unlike Canelo but that bum beat a prime Canelo who needed the judges help for a draw.
