Imo the reason Calzaghe barely got by Hopkins is cause of Freddie Roach!

Or it could simply be that they're both great fighters and Joe was a little bit better. After round 3 Calzaghe won the vast majority of the rounds, and if Hopkins hadn't pulled that resting act in the 10th, he would have been even more out of gas than he was. The fact that Hopkins still outboxes these young guys makes Joe's outboxing of Hopkins look even better in retrospect. Tell me Joe wouldn't have boxed Pascal's ears off.

I wish other Hopkins fans would just Joe his credit. Dude came over and took the belt. It was a close fight that I even had for Calzaghe. I rewatched it recently and had it for Hopkins but my opinion does not matter.

Anyways, my thought of what Hopkins did wrong is coming in very heavy. I think Hop wanted extra weight because he knew he was slower than Joe and wanted to push him around. Instead, it backfired and he had no stamina. He has stayed light in his other fights and even fought at 170 twice. He needs to stay light to have stamina to finish especially against a workrate like Joe's.

people forget he could not convince mosley that the 1 shot isnt their anymore, he even threatened to stop the fight and mosley kept looking for the jab body over hand right. He hadnt landed punch since round 2 and we in round 10 at this point.

Without Richardson's and Roach's(maybe) PEDs Hopkins would have been stopped within the first 8 rounds as Calzaghe would have physically overwhelmed Hopkins and stopped him with one of those trademark slappy stoppages.

 

What difference would Naz have made? Telling Hopkins to not gas so much and work the body more? as if BHop needs someone to tell him that

 

Hopkins was the same ol hopkins against Calzaghe . He lost because he has a low workrate and Calzaghe is a speedy southapaw with a high workrate. The trainer wouldn't have made any difference. In reality Calzaghe didn't land a lot of punches in that fight. It was a pretty boring fight.

Mosley in his last two fights has looked like complete ****. Who trained him?

 

i know my facts, i watched the countdown to the show and saw nazim, john david jackson and roach sitting infront of the tv trying to analyze calzaghe and FAILED, old man river got raped!!!
