I really don't understand the sources or verification behind this but seriously come on, why would Froch fight Dirrel. What a ridiculous promotional move that would be. As you can see below he has his eye on Kessler before the end of this year. I don't know how the hell people were saying the networks were going to poney up all this money in a recession in a division which in real terms has limited superstardom and only a mid way viewer interest. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12183_5418903,00.html Hope to be proven wrong but I think the top guys will fight each other separately.
i'll be very suprized if kessler fights froch. i think calslappy ruined kessler just like lacy only kessler is doing a better job than lacy of hiding the fact that he has become scared and shopworn. if im proven otherwise then great kessler was a very exciting fighter a couple of years ago but he needs to get in the ring and show us he still has it left in the tank to be as good as he was and fighting danilo haussler or dimitri sartison doesnt do that. why shouldnt froch fight dirrell or andre ward, it would be a very nice fight. id want to see those more than froch vs kessler at this time
Dirrell may become Froch's mandatory. He will have to face him soon anyway. For the tournament, if Bute is not in it, I'm not sure I want it to happen. It seems Showtime may be angry because of Bute preferring to rematch Andrade (which will be on HBO) instead of facing Froch (Showtime). Taylor doesn't diserve to be part of the tournament, he's not the future nor the present of the division, he was not even the past! But that's a promoters thing, so he's in it and not Bute.:-(
the key word is allegedy i can see froch fighting dirrell, but i dont see kessler fight ward. but last i heard ward and dirrell were being pushed into a fight against each other as an elim for froch werent they?
We don't know. Dirrell could go for the WBO way. I don't think it's a good idea to let them face eachother right now (financially speaking).
i am skeptical this will get pulled off as well...but i can't help being hopeful. very, very rarely, something that seems too good to be true actually happens. hopefully this is one of those times. and to answer why would fighter a fight fighter b (froch and dirrell in your thread)...supposedly there is a 50m pot of gold on the end of this alleged rainbow for the winner.
No, but Froch is going to need to fight Dirrell soon anyway or vacate his belt. If he can get two other big fights already signed before he even goes into facing Dirrell, then it's a good move for him. Even if he loses 2 out of 3, he becomes a bigger name and is set for life.
Supposedly, Bute was never asked to participate because the Canadian TV companies weren't interested in ponying up. But I don't think it would be the worst thing in the world for him and Andrade to join the tournament; it just makes things logistically more complicated. For the deal to get done, I suspect that Sauerland needs to be successful in prying Kessler away from Palle. That makes things a lot easier. Then you have 2 Sauerland fighters, 2 Dibella fighters, a Goosen-Tutor fighter (and Goosen is already in cahoots with Showtime) and a Mick Hennessy fighter. Those are all pretty reasonable promoters. Palle is the wild card.
