Yeah he did though, GGG lost the rematch 8-4 in my book we can go round by round if you like, but GGG got whooped on the the rematch and should fight a live body instead of begging for a payday. Canelo last few opponents not named GGG are all better than GGGs opponents not named Canelo hell Rocky Fielding would be one of the best official wins of GGGs career and for Canelo it's just an after Thought
Me personally I scored fight I a draw and fight II a 8-4 win for Canelo but my whole point is pointing out how ridiculous the masses sound when speaking on this fight. Kovalev had 2 fights vs one of the P4P best of this era one a close disputed loss the other a stoppage losing to a P4P star in a close fight doesn't make you shot, and his fight with Alvarez he rematches and won. People twist narratives to suit themselves while my scores were different I agree with the actual decision in all 4 fights. And put context into wins and future fights that's something maybe you should try.
the only way canelo can beat Kov is on his way to the canvas he accidentally nuts serg's cods on the way down. just not going to happen.
Lake show bro... dont let them injuries fool you Bron coming back with a vengeance I do like the 6ers in the east though.
Answer me this ?? Do you think Floyd was clean for that debacle ?? He was caught receiving an illegal excessive 750 ml of saline. We all know what that was for dont we ?? LOL certainly not dehydration cause if he was that bad he'd likely have died in the ring. Pac was denied his previously agreed upon ,toradol a LEGAL pain killer for his torn rotator cuff. Floyd happily had his Xylocaine shots which were illegal in boxing until Floyd was caught using them the the NSAC allowed them. When the NSAC issued that statement " Mr Mayweather did nothing wrong we will not be investigating" that was the icing on the cake. Pure corruption.. That fight should be stricken from the records but it wont. Because the NSAC would have to do that They are destroying the sport
even if canelo beat kovie then it matters not, when 3G moves up he will fully unify LHW. Then the Canyellow fans will eat ther humble pie, i will enjoy to watch.
I believe Kovalev to be damaged goods. I think the Ward fights took something out him both physically and psychologically. I wouldn't say he was shot. Because my definition of a shot fighter is when they're no longer capable of beating fighters at the highest level. So he's not shot, but definitely faded. And you better believe that Oscar feels the same way. Oscar kept Canelo away from GG when he became his mandatory. It's obvious that he delayed that fight for as long as possible. So there's no way that Oscar would have put any version of Canelo in front of a pre-Ward version of Kovalev. Also, I don't believe Alvarez would have knocked out a pre-Ward version of Kovalev. I'll give Canelo props if he beats him with no restrictions, but of course people are going to say that he's damaged goods.
You can't really make a comparison due to how the landscape has changed so much. There's now 4 main Org's, each with multiple belts in each weight class, with 17 weight classes. How many Org's were there when Henry ruled? How many divisions were there? What was the difference in weight between them? What Canelo has done looks great on paper. But in reality, it's nothing really amazing.
That sounds good but there have been at least 3 volts in each division since that late 70's so in almost 50 years in a era of multiple weight classes and multiple belts at best we've had maybe 1 or 2 people hold 2 titles in different divisions at the same time, no one has held 3 for all the semantics you bring up if it wasnt a historical accomplishment why has no one else done it.. with all the divisions why has only a few fighter even held 2 titles at once?
We've moved on from GGG. Canelo already beat him. Thats old news. We are talking about Canelo beating Kova.
First off, he hasn't even done it yet. If he does, it will be historic. But it won't be the same feat, which means that not many people will be heaping praise on him in the way that you are. While the stats have to be respected, they also need to be put into context. He's scraped by GG after Oscar waited on him. He's then beaten Fielding who only became the champ by beating Zeuge. Who's Zeuge? The only guy of note that he beat was a shopworn Paul Smith. I'll give him credit if he beats Kovalev. I'll also give him huge credit if he signs to fight the other top guys at the weight. I'll also give him huge credit if it fights BJS or Callum Smith. But again, the Kovalev fight would never be happening had he not have declined.
Fielding would be one of GGGs best opponents and doesn't even crack Canelos top 10, it's crazy that for you to give Canelo credit je has to fight guys that GGG would never dare, right now Kovakev would beat GGG and beat GGGs next opponent and his last opponent..let me ask you this? Who would you pick in Kovalev-BJS? or Kovalev-Charlo or Kovalev-Andrade, GGG wouldn't even fight Rolls at full 168 what makes you think he'd fight Kovalev. One last thing based off history Canelo has gone out of his way to make fights while GGG hasn't soif anybody is waiting for the right time its GGG. You notice he doesn't want to fight anybody else at 160 that's in the top 5 except Canelo without Canelo he's fighting nobodies and his next opponent just got beat by Jacobs like a year ago.
Fielding is nothing special. What if Canelo had beaten Zeuge? Yes, GG hasn't got a great resume. Not by any stretch. But then we have to note that it would have been much better, had he have been able to fight other named opponents. Canelo's circumstances are completely different. He wasn't an unknown entity from Europe who had to come over to try and crack the U.S. like GG. He turned pro at an early age and is promoted by a hugely influential promoter in Oscar. For his age, Canelo has got a great resume. He deserves a lot of credit. But he's had the opportunities that GG hasn't. He's faced huge names in Cotto, Floyd and Shane etc. GG hasn't had those same opportunities. Those types of guys would never have fought GG. No, Canelo hasn't always gone out of his way to make fights, as the fight with GG proves. Regarding Kovalev, I've already said that I'll give Canelo huge credit. But again, he's shopworn. Regarding GG wanting Canelo, well of course he does. Because he feels aggrieved at both of the decisions from their fights. Wouldn't you be desperate to fight Canelo again if you were in his shoes? Whereas Canelo doesn't ever have to face him again, as he's still only young and Oscar can get him other fights. Why would GG want to fight Kovalev? He hasn't accomplished his MW aspirations as yet. You're very defensive. Again, I like Canelo. But you need to put things into context.
GGG COULD have fought better opponents he just wasnt williing to take any type of risk he was content sitting back k waiting for someone else to give him a handout what Canelo is doing right now is what GGG could've done if being great was something that actually mattered. Canelos gone down in weight up in weight all to make good fights even taken less money has GGG done any of that. That is context for you. In regards to GGG I can understand if he felt he won being slighted but whether he thought he won or not Canelo just fought Jacob's who some people feel beat or drew with GGG, he's figuting Kovalev next Canelo is legit taking on tough fighters sl him asking GGG to do something shouldn't be looked at as a duck I mean if GGG won both fights officially and Canelo asked for a rematch after beating guys who weren't even top 10 contenders i would understand him saying no as well. The first fight was close because of that they rematched GGG lost the rematch at this point do something worth a damn to make ppl want a rematch.
More bum fights, Clenelo sitting on the belt like an egg. Fishnets wouldn't put him anywhere near Bivol, Beterbiev or Gvozdyk. In short it would be a disaster.
