importance of the linel championship

    Floyd could have won the lineal title at 147 3 different times.

    Shane Mosley was lineal champ after beating Oscar
    Vernon Forest beat Shane
    Mayorga beat Forest
    Spinks beat Mayorga
    Judah beat Spinks
    Baldomir beat Judah
    Floyd beat Baldomir

    Then when Floyd retired, Cotto, Margarito and Mosley all fought eachother and Mosley came out in top and was the man in the division. It can be argued that Floyd won the title from Mosley in 2010.

    There's also an argument that Floyd won the lineal title in 2013 vs Guerrero since the number 1 guy was Floyd and number 2 guys was Marquez who Floyd already beat.

    fact is mayweather didn't win the lineal at 147 he retired and duckeed the fighters magro was cheating so when shane beat him he won nothing
