I've been a supporter of his for awhile now. I've only seen fights on the internet. I've never seen him live but one thing that does impress me about him is his balance and footwork.

The guy throws alot of punches and his feet are always in the right place and he seems like he's always got his center of gravity in the right place.

    Anyone else notice that?

Yes, but he has to improve his defence.

I think he's just got to get some head and torso movement going.

Some effective Winky blocking in parts also.

He'll improve his "defence" when you improve your spelling. Just kidding bro. :D

His style reminds me a bit of Joe Louis. Have you noticed this?

that would be great but I wouldnt want them to get him too defensive minded. So far he appears to be a pretty damn good offensive fighter. If he starts thinking about slipping, moving, parrying, etc then it could hinder him a little.

I do think that defense is obviously a great thing, and he's young so he can definitely improve on it. He's got a great pedigree already so I think he could apply alot of it. I just wouldnt want someone trying to change him too much, at the very least he needs head and torso movement.

Actually in his last fight against Donald his defense was pretty good.

No, he's not a defensive fighter, but every top level fighter needs a good competent defence to fall back on. Some really effective timed blocking technique's similiar to how Wright, or most African fighters for that matter, certainly could help with him eating less shots.

I am going from the Mayfield fight and the Bostice fight particularly. He ate too many shots.

That's the only thing that I can really criticise, he blasted Bostice in 2 rounds and has eaten his fantastic competition alive and he looks very promising overall. Povetkin is definitley a future player in the division, but I see a powerful guy like Peter presenting style problems even down the line and Klitschko's reach may be too much.

I can see some relations, but Povetkin is more of a pressure oriented guy.
