That was a show! He was fluid and quick with his combinations, and those haymakers.. I'm inpressed with him. SHould be in the mix right now with the big boys of WW. He is more confident, and I am glad he recovers from that Margarito loss.
Ack. I missed this fight because of dinner. So, any more details other than a brutal 2nd round KO? I was always impressed with Cintron on his way up. He's a hell of a puncher. I was still surprised how badly Margarito pwned him so badly.
His past two fights, though they ended in TKOs, he was a little bit tentative. But this performance really suprised me. Hope he can fight Clottey next. I'd love to see him test that chin.
He was just at the top of his game. Great performance. He was ****in' aggressive, his jab was working, he was moving well. The combination was there. You would be happy if you are a Cintron fan.
Not to take anything away from him, but his opponent made him look like the terminator last night. He had no defense whatsoever. If he were to face Mayweather or Williams he'd leave the ring sans his title. P.S. BTW, nice avatar. What are you, a *****?
He KO'd a guy in a little over one round that was still standing after 10 against Williams, so Kermit is obviously the bigger puncher. PW also admitted that Margarito stunned him a few times, IMO Cintron is the biggest puncher in the WW division so we would see how good his chin really is. Kermit has steadily improved under Emmanuel Steward, it also doesn't hurt that he spars with Wlad Klitschko, Jonathan Banks, and Andy Lee (a 6'3 southpaw middleweight with fast hands), he's not the same guy that lost to Tony. However, if PW can take his punch then PW might win a SD, maybe even UD, based on workrate alone compared to Cintron's cleaner punching.
Kermit is the forgotten man on this division, and since Stewart is training him, he is another totally different boxer he ever was, last night even his physique look improve far different to his early fights, I honestly beleive that he is staring to look and fight in the style of Kronk's favorite son, Tommy Hearns, his heavy jab and the combos he was putting together specially his left hook and left upper combo was ventage Hearns.....
I think Cintron would get discouraged very quickly against Williams and all of Manny Steward's tutelage would go out the window. Williams makes you fight his fight. The outcome would be markedly different from what we saw from Cintron last night.
Yes, he looked great. Still want to see how he handles a guy with similar style to Margarito. Cintron looked great, but Mathysse wasnt putting much presssure on him. I think he should give margarito a rematch and see how he stands up against his type of attack now that his boxing skills are way more polished.
But the impressive thing about that fight was his power and the way he delivered those crook powershots in combination. He had his defense, and I don't think Williams can eat those leathers in a consistent basis. CIntron has improved a lot after that Margarito loss. P.S. I hope you are being sarcastic with that comment on my current avatar. Becasue this is what happens here in the forum when your favorite fighter loses to a slightly better fighter. :huh http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3512 :deal
