What fighters do you watch and study re punching technique and combinations...Professionals are amazing with their skills sometimes...Who impresses you?
Ray Robinson looks absolutely fantastic to me...it is so fluid and easy...yet destructive. It's why I rate him so highly.
    What fights/fighters do you watch?

The single best example of technical punching I have seen, all things considered, is Juan Manuel Marquez in his draw with Manny Pacquio.

Micheal Watson's TKO victory over Nigel Benn is another really good example.

Any fight with Juan Manuel Marquez, I would say he has the 2nd best skillset in boxing at the moment, behind only Floyd Mayweather. And thats saying alot since I regard Mayweather as arguably being the greatest of all time (in terms of talent and skill, not accomplishments). Marquez throws every punch perfectly, his counters are all thrown in combination with the punches picked perfectly. Truely a ring genius.

Whitaker and Louis are perhaps the best two I've ever seen in this regard, across all the weight classes. :good

Doesn't Hagler rank here somewhere? I haven't seen to much of the guy, but from what I've seen he seemed to be very adept at all types of punching, and being bidexterius to boot.

I've saw that some rank Mike Tyson, but even if he was a formidable punching machine he tended to get a bit wild at times. Even in his prime.

I think Hagler is a good shout, yes, any specific examples spring to mind?

Tyson is worthy of inclusion based upon the various planes of movement he could employ and his up and down punching, which is unparalleled at the weight in exectution.

Gene Tunney in his fight against Georges Carpentier comes to mind. Of course Joe Louis vs. Max Baer. In those fights we saw fast and precise punches from all angles.
