    You'd be surprised at how many fighters don't skip then, and how many trainers/fighters think it's a waste of time. And when you see fighters skipping how is it used? As a warm up? Perform a few tricks on media day? So what is the point for it? A lot of fighters also used a speed bag, again a piece of equipment that isn't needed and isn't really used for anything other than showing off. Floor to ceiling? Boxing tradition is full of exercises with little reason or substance behind their use. There are countless top pros, amateurs who don't use any of the aforementioned equipment.
    Again, you need to ask what and why you're doing something. Physical qualities can be developed in many ways, and skipping rope doesn't hold any unique benefits. It's used to get the heart rate up a little bit, that's about it. And that's how it's typically used by boxers, there's nothing special about it.
