Hello everyone, I found this punching bag drill on the internet, as follows, The Speed Drills 1 Stand 2-3 feet distance from the bag. Explode forward with a jab and explode back (the clearance). Focus on the speed of action. Execute no more than 5 lunges. 2 Repeat the same drill above but now substitute the jab for a 1-2 combo. Execute no more than 5 lunges. 3 Repeat the same drill above, but now substitute the 1-2 combo for a hook punch. Execute no more than 5 lunges. Focus on the speed of delivery and clearance. The Strength Drills 1 Stand 1-2 feet distance from the bag. Explode against the bag with a cross punch. After each punch bring the bag back to a still state before the next punch. Execute no more than 10 punches. Focus on the power of delivery and back it up with as much momentum and weight as possible. I am thinking of following the above mentioned routine in the gym but I was wondering if I should do both of them in one session or should I concentrate on one thing during a workout so just strength drill for one day combining all the punches or both? I have been training for a only a month now and my coach told me my technique is now improving. Eager to know your thoughts. Thank you.
Don't waste your time. Just hit the bag and focus on technique. Thats where your speed and power will come from.
