I remember this was rumoured to be happening at that time. the naz comeback rumours were doing the rounds and one rumour was that hima nd Dunne were going to go at it. It never materialised of course, but who do you think would have taken the fight? personally I think Naz would not only have KO'd Dunne, but would have made a complete show of Dunne while doing it.

Dunne fought at super bantam? Naz would never have gotten near that weight if he had come back.

In the unlikely event that they had ever met, Naz would have stopped him as soon as he landed.

    Naz KO 1

Do you mean he would make a show of Dunne the way Barrera made a show of him? Dunne would have been stopped for sure, if that's what you mean by Hamed "making a show of him" but then he would have stopped most super bantams around at the time. Dunne was still in learning fights in 2004 so I doubt that rumour had any truth behind it at all.

There is no Way Naz would have been in Dunne's division in 2004. Is this just a Dunne hate club excuse?

I know for a fact there were rumours going around and articals were written. I'm sure it was 2004, but it could have been 2005. It was on boxing boards at the time as well. People gave Dunne a chance as his chin hadn't been exposed. Naz would have obliterated him in a very severe hiding... much worse than the Kiko experience which lasted 80 seconds I believe.

Any sign of these alleged articles about Dunne fighting Hamed? Absolute bollocks thread. Ridiculous and made up with the sole purpose of hating on Bernard.

Nas with his 20 odd title fights, having knocked out a **** tonne of opponents, was going to fight a 10 fight novice.

What a big load of gash this thread is.

Naseem Hamed was better than Bernard Dunne. I don't really think we need this ****ing ridiculous made up thread for people to know that.

"dunne bashing thread"? so you pick Dunne to beat Naz or you think Naz wouldn't have KOd him? You think people do "dunne bashing"? I have little or no interest in "Dunne bashing" as you describe it, I'm just calling a mythical match as I see it. You are making out as if Dunne gets bashed wrongly all the time or something? Not sure I understand your opinion.

Well I remember the rumours mate, no need to make it up. I don't think the fight was rumoured but it was rumoured that Naz would be coming out of retirement and then fighting Dunne somewhere down the line. People were speculating on the fight and saying Dunne could win. I remember this happening and I was vehemently saying the Hamed would blow Dunne away.

Hamed was one of the most over rated hype jobs in modern day boxing.

I don't know who these people were starting these rumours. I know and knew back in 2004 people attached to the Dunne camp and I can tell you they never would have considered pitching him in with Hamed back then. A 10 fight novice against an elite level fighter with about 20 successful World Title defences. It wouldn't have been considered for a nanosecond so whoever was spreading the rumours was living in fairytale land.

I already said Hamed would stop Dunne, if you have no interest in slating him why did you feel the need to point out that Kenny Egan is better than him in your other thread which had absolutely nothing to do with the subject at hand? That's two digs at him in two separate thread so forgive me for thinking that you made this thread simply to slag him off.
