In 2010 who does Pavlik fight to win you back?

Pavlik/Martinez does't do a thing for me. In my opinion if Martinez beats Paul, it doesn't prove Martinez is a great fighter. It would only show that PW really is a welterweight who doesn't belong at the higher weights yet. Of course if the fight turned out to be a real barn burner, and Martinez won, I might have to change my position.

 

it isn't like he's had some overwhelming schedule before the infection. 2 fights in 06, 3 in 07, 3 in 08, 1 in 09. So we're going to see him every 6 months now? He's not a superstar.

2009 is a bad year for kelly so i hope he makes up for it next year. 2 middleweight fights and moved up and face abraham at 168.

The inactivity in the first half of '06 was due to surgery on the right hand. KP was out of commision from Zuniga in fall '05 to McKart in July '06.

The 3 fights in '07 were two title elminators and a title fight.

In '08 came a mandatory rematch with JT, a WBO mando, and a fight with BHop.

The current hand problem started in training camp for the WBC mandatory which was Rubio.

89 amatuer fights in a ten year amatuer career. 36 fights in 9 years as a pro in spite of two long and unavoidable lay offs. Not much room there for criticism.

Abraham will still be involved in the Super Six then. The semi finals are scheduled to be sometime around that time.

Hell I don't care who Pavlik fights ... he's better that 85% of the fighters from 160-175

 

He fights to not be so damn filty and dirty so he stops getting infections.

 

That leaves 402 better fighters than Pavlik at MW, SMW and LHW, if we use Boxrec's figure of 2679 active fighters at those weights :good

 

You are 100% correct in what you said. The week after Kelly was in the Cleveland Clinic, I stopped down at Southside Boxing Club, which I have been doing a dozen times or so a year for the past 16 years. Anyhow the Gym had cleared out and Jack had said to me that Kelly almost died from the reaction to the anti- biotics. I was really shocked. I did not come on this forum and say anything , because this was private. It did take about 6 weeks for the press to release this info. As for all the Jack haters, he has trained young boxers for 20 years or so, money out of his own pocket, and even when he got a little money from the Pavlik fights, he bought a building and again used his own money. As we speak Jack has an amateur card going on right now.

 

I've pretty much given up here. Let them hate.

 

so Jack told you he almost died from antibiotics and that's the gospel truth, huh? Man i'd love to talk to one of Kelly's doctors but damn HIPAA privacy.

So was KP in guarded condition, or just critical before his near death experience?

 

1-4 are good matches. Duddy and Mora are acceptable if no good matches available.

Honestly HNN could potentially embarrass Pavlik. :think Or he could get himself KTFO...would be interesting.
