In 2013, Matthysse's defeat was probably the most damaging to one's respective career

It was so bad Lucas thought of retiring it destroyed him mentally.

    1. The invincible aura is all gone pretty much. Swift showed us his limitations. A relatively decent boxer who possesses a good chin. Someone who is willing to rough it up with him if need be.

    2. People thought he was really undefeated and now thats gone too.

    3. Danny also put him on his ass

    1. Lucas never made himself out to be invincible, we already knew his limitations. Danny doesn't have a good chin.. an iron chin.

    2. He was undefeated... (close boxing matches with Alexander and Judah, but I had him winning both)

    3. Not really a straight up knockdown, pulled him off balance into the ropes. So it was hardly 'putting him on his ass'

Overall it was a very competative fight. Very edgy boxing match for the first 4 rounds. after 6 rounds I & most had it even. Then the eye swipe left Matthysse with no option but to try and get Garcia hurt.... both are limited and rematch would yet again pose a very competative fight.

Actually many people labelled him as pretty much unstoppable b4 the swift fight. Many had him as a man who could beat money.

It was a legit knockdown. The first two shots that garcia popped him with really hurt him then garcia kinda pulled him down when they got tangled up. Good chance he would have been knocked down anyways. They were hard shots.

sorry dude, broner getting bullied, beat up and forced to be guided out of the ring without making a peep and into the locker room like an old woman being helped into church...by a handpicked opponent no less...is much more damaging. I, like many others, thought this was a great fight for broner to showcase his skills. And I, like many others, were dead wrong.

a lot of what ifs in the lucas fight with regards to his eye injury and fighting with one eye the second half of the fight.

the only what if for broner right now is what if he's really just another andre berto.

    nice try though.

Actually the fans chose the maidana fight. Good try. It wasnt cherry picked

Excuses for lucas's loss rofl. Garcia tore him up. Woulda done it with or without the eye injury.

Broner wants an instant rematch and isnt demoralized. Lucas thought about retiring

I should only go on chckhookboxing for serious discussions... *sigh*

    Much bias, Much butthurt.

Matthysse is still easily the #2 best at 140. destroys everyone at 140. Such a damaged career right?

Watching Lucas destroy PEDerson with a grazing left hook and Maidana bum Broner have been the most pleasing fights this year lol!

you know damn well that this "heir apparent to Floyd" wasn't going to be allowed into the ring with anyone that his team thought could do this to him.

 at you putting any stock into a "poll." what a joke. and verified by who? the legal term for that is willful blindness and its never an excuse.

the broner that fought maidana would get the **** kicked out of him by lucas as well with that berto-esque shoulder roll.

having said that, broner can bounce back from this. he has the tools to beat maidana. I still think that. but he's going to have to make some changes.

Broner's defeat was much more damaging than Matthysse's, people were trying to build Broner up as the future of boxing before the Maidana fight.

Danny is just a better fighter. At worst, Lucas is the second best fighter at 140. Not a bad position to be in.

    Pretty much how it is.

Lucas is still a machine with one hell of a dig on him, very good win on Garcia's record.
