He's a great great fighter but it's sad that you have all knid of people calling him coward this and coward that. I just believe that whether he like it or not people won't except him as an ATG. People are very harsh these day, even if you give them the fight that they want it's still not enough. You have to be the underdog and still beat your competitor by a landslide to get your respect. Even that's not enough sometime.

Yall must be crazy. Floyd Mayweather Jr IS an all time great. You can't name one fighter who has won six titles in five weight classes, 2 time fighter of the year, won his first title in only his second year as a pro, been top 10 p4p for an entire decade(beside the year he retired), and has beaten 15 world champions. If that is not an all time great then I don't know what is. Years from now people will respect his talent and he will be an all time great. But right now people hate him so they really won't even think about him as one. Just my opinion.

He will not be remembered in 30 years.
    He doesnt have the 'it'

Nobody talks about Sugar Ray Leonard anymore.
If Floyd walked down the street, 99% of the people would not recognize him.
He has a low 'Q' rating.

interesting post but technology could hurt as much as help the current crop.

if extensive footage of harry greb were around, we'd be seeing a replay of the youtube clip where he's knocked out by joe chip to funny music every time someone brought him up as GOAT

if extensive footage of willie pep were around, we'd see him manhandled and fouled to **** by saddler as the mention of his defensive prowess

sloopy performances by robinson (gavlian) and ezzard charles (ken overlin?) would be used to discredit them and a highlight video of armstrong losing twice to fritzie zivic wold be a hater favourite

without technology, the old timers losses get swept aside as products of the era and their wins turn to myths of greatness

mayweather will be remembered as a great defensive fighter who didn't achieve his full potential that his promised skills and talent could've.

to sum up mayweather's career in 2 words : potential unrealized.

I love reading when morons equate "being in a war" with some sort of greatness. Taking punches doesn't make a fighter great.

Haha. Gotta love love the ruminations of a joy boy's prose.

But yeah, a lot of you seem to be reveling in this fact instead of understanding that this is a major blight on the sport of boxing. The most naturally gifted fighter in decades neglects to test himself and to find out just how great he is? Very sad. Wonderful, wonderful boxer. Sad situation.

Some of these foos is ignorant and stupid. Being in a war doesn't enhance the victory. Completely shutting out an offensive machine and not letting it make war gets the most cool points.

LOL it looks like somebody is butt hurt about this thread. No need to be butt hurt, just give your opinion so we can debate like all adults. My opinion is just that the way how alot of people is disrespecting Mayweather right now, his name is not going to be too loud in 30 years. It's sad when you have to see station like ESPN calling him a coward.
