The rule states very clearly that any shot below the naval(belly button) is illegal. The naval is what determines where the beltline is. Rules are rules.

Yes so if your belly button is in the middle of the your belt then shots on the beltline will be deemed legal by good referees who will state before the bout begins, Trunks are a little high, anything "here" is legal and put his hand on the band.

Now the real trick is for a referee to be able to see and pinpoint without slow motion where a punch with a 10oz glove it landing. If you get hit on that high waistband it's going to be ignored as legal as will happen in Fury Usyk as has been done in a million fights prior. Difference is no paid off Pabon referee.

Yes they should. But was that the case with Usyk and Dubois? To me, it looked below the belly button. The reason I say this is, and I said it before, look at the glove in relation to Usyk's hip. That shot, if it were on the side, would definitely be an illegal shot to the hip. The top of the hip is at the top of the belt line, which in turn, is on the naval.

Was a glove with a distance across it no smaller than 150mm above or below a point is indeterminable. Was it fully below his belly hole. No. Was it fully above it no. It was on it and it was legal. Pabon failed to define legal and was paid off to look after Usyk no bother. Refs absolute wetting of his pants anytime anything even remotely close to a clinch happening was more entertaining to me.

I have a terrible feeling it's going to get postponed. I hope I'm wrong for the sake of Boxing.

You could not see the naval to say if the glove was on it or not. That's why I use the hip as reference. The top part of the hip, is in line with the naval with most people. The ref made an in time decision, without the aid of playback, or slow motion video. He ruled in favor of Usyk. But all of that has no bearing on the Fury fight. A fight that probably has you staying up at night, clinching your life size Fury doll, praying to whatever God you believe might help your hero out. But as the late great Memphis Minnie said, crying won't help ya, praying won't do ya no good. Fury getting Whooped!
