In 5 years will boxing decline or be popular than ever in 5 years

5 years from now in 5 years baxing will be up and down. But we will only know in 5 years, so in 5 years we can discuss what transpired in the past 5 years. Yes

 

If it continues to only be accessible through obscure apps and not on free TV we'll go down and decline more. In order to be discovered you have to be on free tv. Pay-per-view is only for the top fights and top draws

 

Boxing will always be a small flame in the sports world, but it's a very hot-burning flame and we get really nice prolonged flare-ups every now and then.

 

I think ESPN will be out of the boxing game by then, which will be a massive blow to American viewership. The sport has been on a steady decline and is currently in the worst place it has been in my lifetime.

It is a great sport, and one that I have loved for a long time. The future of boxing is very grim however. Nobody trusts results anymore, fights aren't getting made, it is just one disaster after another.

 

Boxing doesnt like to promote itself..in the 70s there were some Muhammad Ali dolls and a "counterfeit Ken Norton" that came with one...in the 90s there was a huge shot with Roy Jones Jr., Oscar De La Hoya and Felix Trinidad..nothing got done.

If boxing doesnt promote itself like the WWE and the UFC once did, to the children to the young teens who can and will influence their parents to buy PPV shows, how can it expect to become a mainstream sport?

I agree, I honestly think it will just turn to a slow death. The Jake Paul, freak show type events will hold it up for a while but people are changing, the young troglidites of today won't get up for it, in the future.

 

More popular, this has been a great year so far and there’s still more great matchups coming. If boxing keeps up this momentum it can be popular again.

 

The thing is, once Tank who is getting older and Canelo are out, there's no real stars left in boxing. Ryan Garcia had the potential to be a big star but Tank kinda put that flame out.

 

In 5 years, boxing will not be more popular than ever, because there is no basis for that.

like many other things, it is currently overvalued by it's upper tier and requires a crash to weed out the pretenders. i don't know how long that will take, but i'm patient.
