making point that governing body rankings are rubbish, that's what. so we know GG has only beat opponents that are fringe world level at best. Well glad we got that sorted, instead of romanticising about his career

Least you have woken up to fact Froch is far superior to him. I am fully behind Crolla, don't think he will win, but it's his best chance of winning a world title. One of the good guys in British boxing, nothing would give me greater pleasure in him proving me wrong

Seems to be true. In Ring, IBO or Transcontinental rankings it is probably true, unless they s****ed Degale top 15 after beating Smith.

Oh I thought that we were talking about Brandon Gonzalez who you could argue was close to the top 15, saying Noe Gonzalez was top 15 is just ridiculous to be honest he blatantly was not. :patsch

    Who has Noe Gonzalez beaten?

I would not be shocked. I'm not against British guys getting the nod in close ones but I think a few guys have come over here and been ripped off to be honest on Eddie Hearns shows in paticular Chilemba vs. Bellew in the fist fight. Maciel vs. Rose Beltran vs. Burns that's a few off the top of my head. Abril is just a spoiler really if it's s****py he could be robbed.

    That is a pejorative lead-in ...

    To be fair ...

George Groves in just 6 years in the pros has only entered the ring twice with top fifteen (top two actually) rated SMWs (losing to Froch twice - once with a bit of controversy).

    Not all that dissimilarly ...

Joe Calzahge in just 6 years in the pros had only entered the ring twice with top fifteen rated SMWs (winning a disputable split decision over Reid and a decision over Eubank (a Eubank that while still rated near the bottom ten of SMWs was basically inactive at SMW since the last Collins fight twenty-four months previously and had to cut a lot of weight in something like two weeks as he was preparing for Prince at LHW). Groves also started his pro career 1 year younger than Calzaghe.

Pretty similar willingness to move up to better competition at this point in their respective careers. The results were different of course but it may not have taken much for both to have been 1-1 after the first six years either.

You are always going to look like a monumental **** when you start a troll thread and then start arguing on the head of a pin.
