Is there a reason why they couldnt just arrange a contract in which the winner of the fight would get a bigger piece? I know egos will always pollute the purity of creating a clean and fair contract but doing it this way would be the best bet for all(even though im sure some losers would complain that they won). Maybe im missing something though. What do you guys think?

goddamn it, how many times are we going to have the same damn thread.

No man with any clout is going to put up his earnings to chance, or else what the **** is the purpose of negotiating.

You guys are all like Master P when he was Ricky Williams' agent.

i understand that but to me it creates a clearer chance for someone to say they deserve more money especially in a fight of this caliber.

Because people buy the PPV and tickets before the winner is announced so OBVIOUSLY who wins the fight does not determine how much money it will make

you get min 40 percent or whatever and whomever wins will get more of the remainder. dont see how that is putting your earnings in risk.

Because it provides a solid financial incentive to bribe the judges. Close thread. Again.

ok i see. but i see also the confusion - no matter who wins, they get no monetary edge that night.

The winner already gains a huge advantage by the fact that he's won and is The Man for future fights. He's worth more after winning, the loser is worth less after losing. Why make this worse by also giving the winner more money?? If anything, the loser should get more money. lol

Because it's not boxing fans who do the negotiations. It's the fighters, promoters, and their managers. ****

It wouldn't benefit Mayweather since he has a better case for getting over 50%.

    This.

Also, remember Laurence Cole stopping Chavez-Taylor with 2 seconds left on the clock? That's a 20 million dollar call in a fight like Pacquaio-Mayweather, if the winner's getting more.

In all honesty mate the winner of this fight will earn more money in the longrun. the winner would be able to demand 70-80% if the loser wanted a rematch. or if they fought anyone else they could demand bigger purses because they beat pacquiao/mayweather. the loser gonna have to rebuild themselves or retire
