Man, I would love to see Gamboa vs Broner right now, but we know that wouldn't happen. I would like to see that fight right now over seeing May Vs Pac. Both men are in their prime, unbeaten, and both hungry. Mayweather and Pac are out of their primes. They are both still great fighters, but out of their primes. Pac still ad******g to fighting without steroids and floyd is slowing down because of age!
broner will always have trouble with a power puncher and someone who is the aggressor. Gamboa will put him to sleep
Yeah me too. Theres time though to build the fight. Let both men get a couple of fights in at 135 then we can see it at the end of next year and make it the spectacle it deserves to be
Yeah its hard to say because Gamboa is so gifted that he dosen't have to follow the same rules as most boxers. He drops both hands after punches, he moves in an out like Manny, he punches hard like Tyson, he fast like a young Floyd and he has a really good defense except when he gets to reckless on the offensive end! Broner is a Floyd clone but I thinks he hits harder than Floyd. Broner has an excellent Defense and I think that the only person who will beable to hit Broner on a regular basis is someone who does not fight a conventional fight! But Broner is bigger and stronger so I have no clue on who would win!
Broner is only 22-23 years old. Almost certainly more fights until he reaches his prime. Gamboa as of right now and near future. 2-3 years from now, Broner could be much bigger and maybe a little better than Gamboa.
First things first, I'd have to see how well Broner copes against a heavy handed fighter; we don't even know if he can take a punch. Apart from that, Broner is not a Floyd clone despite the philly shell he adopts. He does somewhat resemble current Floyd with his flat-footed counter-defensive style, but nothing really like Floyd at 130. His footwork is no where near up to Floyd's standard, his reflexes and athleticism are lacking compared to Floyd, he doesn't possess nor throw the lead right like Floyd, and we've not really seen him exhibit any kind of ring IQ akin to Floyd's. At the moment, I'd put money on Gamboa. Any doubts I have are due to not having seen him fight for ~12 months and having seen how big Broner looks right now.
Certainly a fight I'd like to see. I think Gamboa outclasses him, but who knows for sure. Broner to me is a lazy ass, who has been given too much too soon. This could be his downfall in the ring. He has a ton of natural talent, that can't be denied, but I'm not convinced he is willing to put in the hard work camp after camp. Even last night it looked like he was tired early, but he was so superior to his opponent it didn't matter. He almost reminds me of a young Kendal Holt, explosive when he flipped the switch, but never fully in tune in the ring. He seems easily distracted, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see this kid get beat when he steps up in competition. That being said, if he buckles down he could be something special, we just have to wait and see.
yeah and broner has his legs spread very wide and leans back. and u know those punches that gamboa drangs well if they land on broners chin or temple he is gone (k.o)
Gamboa stepsit up when he faces top opposition,i remember people saying mtgawa would give gamboa trouble, because he gave lopez a tough fight and i remember the fact that solis fought pacquiao made gamboa wanna destroy him.
Exodus I don't agree with you man. Broner is a Floyd clone, you can tell he pattern this fight style after the man. Floyd at one 130 is a different fighter because he didn't fully commit on his punches and Floyd does not like to get hit. Broner is an excellent fighter and he pattern his fight style after one of the all time greats. Its kind of like Kobe and Jordan. You would have to be a fool to not believe Kobe pattern his game after Jordan. But one fact will always remain the same, the carbon copy is never as good as the original. As much as Kobe tried to be Jordan, he is his own man. But the similarities are there.
Broner reminds me of berto, because he is very fast with his hands and punching power, but he has a suspect chin and a average defense.
Look, I agree with you when you say Broner has based his whole style off Floyd. He does try to emulate him. The point I'm making is that Floyd at 130 was a far different fighter to Broner right now. And that Broner lacks some of the key attributes that enable Floyd to dominate with his particular style. And this latter point we'll only be able to prove true, or disprove, in time as Broner fights better opposition.
