Wlad can land more than 7 punches a round. He has started real slow in fights before and he didn't have Emmanuel Stewart yelliing at him early. I think he can bounce back but he has too take it Fury. Apparently his team thought they can win with the standard gameplan, through that out the window too.
Jacko's post is correct, yes. But I think Wlad will study the tapes and will see there is no need to even sign on for a rematch unless he takes another outlook on offensive attacks. The let it ALL go style of Wlad that blasted out Ray Mercer. THAT is the effective fight plan he'll have to take if he wants to win this rematch. His current, cautious style that was developed to conserve energy and keep from getting hit, won't/can't end up in anything but another loss. A chance HAS to be taken, if he wants a chance at winning the rematch. He's going to have to stop the safety first style, as effective as that was against all OTHER opponents, it wasn't against a bigger, longer reaching opponent. Bring back the firepower from hell Wlad. But as effective as that style was, its also risky due to being exposed to a counter, or tiring out. If he still has the physicality at 39 ( and I think he does as he's taken such impeccable care of himself, and hasn't been brutally hit in years ), he can KO Fury and do it in grand fashion, given his immense power. But given the height and reach of Fury, Wlad will have to rebuild his fight plan from the ground up, almost, as he's obviously not prepared for the rare fighter that is taller than him with more reach than he has, as Fury is. Making himself start fighting with uppercuts when in a clinch may also serve him well. Afterall, Wlad is the smaller "inside" fighter, now! lol Reworking your gameplan for an opponent this tall is uncharted territory for Wlad, obviously. But I think he is more of a professional, disciplined, highly skilled athlete to NOT rework his fight plan and be victorious next time. Anyway,I am obviously ooking forward to seeing this play out.
It's hard to picture Vlad being able to stomach months of taunting from Fury, which is what he'll be in for....and this time, no one can accuse Fury of being crazy. He beat him once and by the time the mental meat grinder is fed, Vlad is going to be a mess. I'd love to see him get really ****ed and bring that into the ring, but that's not his nature.
his arms are too short http://cdn1.insidethegames.biz/medi...ladimir Klitschko in tonight's main event.jpg
:good A fighter as smart as he is is not foolish enough to go into a rematch doing the same ineffective style. I see him start working on a revised fight plan that is geared towards the new, bigger opponent. Fury has about one half the KO power WLad has, if that. And one or two good shots is all Wlad needs to land to get him on his back.. Fury is not exactly iron chinned nor is he a powerful KO puncher. What Fury is is a big, a good movement, with immense reach and basic skills. Wlad will have to rework his style to effectively deal with someone big as Fury. One of Wlad's greatest advantages of size is no longer there. THis will, in a way, really prove what kind of FIGHTER he can rework himself into. Should be a great rematch. Wlad by TKO, mid to late rounds.
Fury is a bum. It took a demon haunted Wlad to allow him to win. Although I think Wlad KO's him in rematch because Vitali's ****ed
CHEF needs to shove a chilli up Wlad's ass. He needs some fire in him, that's all. He musn't be afraid of getting KO'd and must let his hands go. I DKSAB compared to Wlad ... but I know this.
Klitschko will get outwitted again. Wlad will come in trying to ko fury, furys team will prepare for this and wlad will get ktfo by a counter.
Rewatched the fight again. I think Wlad can easily win this. The left hook was there. The lead right was there. Jabbing to the face and body were there. He needs to mix it up to win this one; unless he wants to play the counter puncher in the rematch.
Great post! I was baffled on Saturday night. Wlad's got genuine one punch stopping power in either hand, and Fury hasn't, and we've seen him get dropped by Steve Cunnngham. If Wlad had gone into the fight with a different mindset, he'd have won comfortably in my opinion. This is going to be a real test of character. In the rematch, he'll have nothing to lose and everything to gain. But has he got the mental strength? Tyson did a complete psyche job on him. This is totally different than when Lennox rematched Rahman. Vitali is going to have to spend a lot of time with him in camp.
