In no way shape or form was Kessler equivalent or better than the Corrales, or Castillo that Floyd beat. Continuing to compare, Floyd's 130 and 135 pound resume squashes Slappy Joe's. Yeah at 140, and welter, Floyd was very selective with his match making. So was Joe throughout his career. Floyd's resume is overall better than Joe's with Joe's best win, being a controversial one. That doesn't do **** for someone's resume. It's like Canelo getting the gifts over and over, and people acting like he clearly beat guys, that he shouldn't have gotten the decision over.

Hmm...usually I agree with you but there's a lot to unpack here, some that I do agree with and some that I don't.

The Corrales win was a big one, Corrales was a very good fighter.

B-Hop gave Joe far more trouble than Eubank did.

I rate Kessler as an A- or possibly even A fighter if you stretch it. A real well schooled fighter with no glaring weaknesses. Corrales and Castillo are A- level at best. Both have glaring flaws that are not present with Kessler. Corrales, plods and does not creatively set up punches. Which for a puncher is critical. Castillo has a somewhat shaky chin that cracked too often. Which for a pressure fighter is a glaring flaw. A pressure fighter is heavily reliant on chin.

Calzaghe would have beaten Toney at 168, he was one of the few fighters during the 90`s that didn`t just rely on athleticism.

He wasn't necessarily better than Joe but Floyd was the PT Barnum of boxing. He could wind up the crowd, love him or hate him, he generated the interest. Probably more people tuned in to see him get KO'd than did those to support him.

I know, I'm not disputing that. I just happen to rate Kessler very, very highly.

Toney was a beast at 168. No one beat him and I'm not so sure Joe would have.

May fought a better level of OP. Multiple division champ 5 to 2. Basically May did what JC did, but more of it.

Corrales was a more powerful force in his weight class going into the Floyd fight, in my opinion. I also never thought much of Kessler. He was an above average guy in a weak division. He got easily beaten by Ward, then had close fights with a guy that Ward easily beat in Froch.

Calzaghe's best win is Hopkins. Hopkins had beaten the man at the weight Tarver, prior to fight Calzaghe. He also clearly beat Pascal, and Cloud post Calzaghe.

Well ..Ward never beat a prime 100% Kessler IMO but that's a whole can of worms...

Suffice to say in any other context I do usually defend the Chico win as being a great and underrated one for PBF ..just don't happen to agree that it stands head and shoulders above the best-ever version of Kessler that Calzaghe outfoxed.

Kessler at his absolute best was better than Tarver/Cloud/Pascal IMO but I can see if you're just going by resume on paper how Hopkins is the biggest W for Calzaghe. I feel like Calzaghe put in a better performance against Kessler because he needed to in order to dissect the man, whereas against Hopkins he was sort of playing around, goofing, and got dropped as a result.

but a root canal on you might be hilarious for others!

I am not sure on your stance here. My post was serious, not funny - are you saying "-isms" are a joke to you? Thats a terrible and bannable thing to suggest on ESB. Please dont.

Or are you defending Joe's marital abuse? That might be worse, but you wont be banned for that.
