In boxing, the fighters get the money, in MMA the promoters (Dina White) gets it.

This is what a boxer who was on the panel of Inside MMA said. It got general agreement. I forget the boxer's name, it was the guy who won the contender boxing reality TV show.

The promoter always keeps the money. Its just that a very small number of boxers have been allowed to become promoters as well.

Won't always be this way if the UFC continues to grow and expand.

On average, those involved in boxing are making more money.

Here are the payouts from UFC 130, I bet the fighter's on this PPV undercard make just as much as those on the undercards of HBO PPV.

Boxing promotions and MMA promotions, specifically the UFC, have very different business models. To say the UFC is successful is something of an understatement, and while some may argue that their fighters are underpaid, they are consistently attracting new talent and are generally quite open about their fighters increasing their own revenue streams (sponsor logos on t-shirts, shorts, hats, banners etc. product endorsements, etc., etc.)

Also, Dana White doesn't own the UFC or Zuffa. He is the president of the UFC, but from memory he only owns something like 10% of the company. The rest is owned by the Fertita bros and I think 5% is owned by some Shiekh from the UAE.
