What's your opinion ? In Chul Baek vs John Mugabi in a 12 rounds in Super Welterweight, two terrifying punchers !
Mugabi by savage ko within 4 at light-middleweight. Had they fought at Super-middleweight post Norris loss (L Ko 1) whilst Baek was champion might be a different story as The Beast´s chin had cracked. I think the 168 ib version of Baek (scored 2 good ko wins over Fulgencio Obelmejias and useful Ron Esset) might survive he early rounds to wear down Mugabi for a 11th ko.
Mugabi was not the same after Hagler, the loss to Duane Thomas maybe you can give a pass because the thumb in the eye. He did score 11 straight kos (over weak opposition, see below) but he just did not look the same pre-Hagler. Terry Norris was a hell of a fighter but that loss ruined him. Looked awful afterwards and McClellan destroyed with ease. This content is protected This content is protected
Another one of those highlight reel brutal ko's by Mugabi. Baek does not have the defense to avoid getting clipped. Biggest question is which punch gets the 1 punch ko-----left hook? right uppercut? right hand?
Bottom line, to me Mugabi is too hard and Baek too easy to hit. The Beast unloads some heavy artillery early and Baek never gets on track: KO 1 or KO 2.
