One Pernell Whitaker might have something to say about this. While Floyd may be a terrifically skilled fight, Sweet Pea was a class apart. With more though I may be able to throw out another 2 or 3 names who I feel are more skilled.

What does this actually signify? Sven Ottke retired an undefeated fight. Does this make him an ATG automatically? Likewise Terry Marsh did, but he is absolutely now-where near being an ATG. I'm not saying Floyd isn't, the undefeated record should make little impact.

No, he is not the current lineal champion. Because like you say, he's retired. Therefore he has relinquished all ties with boxing, even if it's just for the time being. It all also worth mentioning that he beat a weak linear champion in Baldomir.

And? What is this supposed to signify. This doesn't mean he is assured of the win. Whilst I think Floyd would decision Margarito if he came out of retirement, the victory isn't set in stone.

May be. But the fact is Floyd has rarely stepped up to the plate to prove this. Cotto, Margarito, Williams, even Joshua Clottey, are all worthy opponents or have been prior to Floyd retiring, though he chose not to fight any of them.

He can and credit to him. But he's not invulnerable to any style. Whilst he can adapt and beat pressure fighters, he has been troubled by them in the past, namely Castillo I.

Absolutely. No argueing with this from me, the guy is an ATG and he has worked tremendously hard to get where he is.

I think those 3 guys would stand more than just 'a chance'. Though quite why you have mentioned Aaron Pryor when talking about guys that could beat him at 135 is bemusing. I think guys like Williams, Ortiz, Whitaker, Jack, Canzoneri, Leonard and Gans would stand a chance of beating him at 135. And there's a whole lot more who could beat him at 147.

    1) No RJJis the most talented fighter of the last 20 years Fact
    2) Correct, a great and rare achievment in boxing
    3) No he's retired, he gave up the title when he retired
    4) Yes your right
    5) I agree
    6) Impossible to say as he never fought a truly great fighter in there prime, though i think DLH win is much better than most people on here
    7)I agree
8)Rubbish, pea would be favourite though i have it much closer than others, even mosely at 135 has a decent chance though i favour PBF

Roy jones was as accurate, put his combos together better, floyd had better defence and probably has a better jab but neither uses it much, there is not much diffrence skills wise and roy was far faster with better reflexs and more power

    exactly thats my point...

you dont learn fast reflexes and better power...

    your born with that...

what floyd has learned throughout his career is arguably better... as far as working off his defense

Overall, I believe Roy Jones is a better fighter, mainly because of his physical abilities combined with that of his technical, however if we are isolating technical I would edge towards Floyd.

However, there is no way Floyd is more technically gifted than Pernell Whitaker.
