Obviously size has a lot to do with it, but Mir is a big boy himself, but thats beside the point.

    1) Its not to Brock's discredit he can overpower other fighters with ease, drop the katas and hit the weightroom fellas, this is top level athletics.

    2) It's not just size, his technical wrestling is some of the best in the HW division. MMA guys are incredibly technical in BJJ, but only learn technically sound takedown defense/offense when it comes to wrestling.

Great example is Hammil; not an explosive wrestler, but his ground wrestling confused the **** out of Bisping. GSP and Lesnar side rode Serra and Herring perfectly, Rashad has done it too. Taking the back from the side ride is not always the best option, some guys are too good at rolling into guard from their and you lose the advantage. People gave Brock **** saying "I learned how to take the back the first day of BJJ!!!1", but they don't realize he knows how, he just is more dominant from side ride.

I'm going to use the Matt Hughes vs Royce Gracie fight as an example to show the general point that the ground grappling aspect of wrestling can be used to great effect, even against BJJ.

A mix is obviously the best, and Hughes showed the perfect mix against Royce.

While Whorian may have said he won with pure Gracie Jiu Jitsu; the way he took the back and flattened the hips looks familiar

Whoreion would describe this as the perfect Gracie Jiu Jitsu duckunder takedown Matt used

And of course Whorions patented Gracie Jiu Jitsu Quarter Nelson

Don't get me wrong, BJJ is the dominant grappling art, but alot of technical wrestling can be used effectively. Brock and Hughes aren't just dominantly strong, they are are technical wrestlers, both on the feet and ground.

People need to not just focus on the takedown aspect of wrestling and focus entirely on BJJ technique once its on the ground.

Now, in terms of his interview

He went over the line; period.

1)In his defence, he was being boo'd, if I just dominated the interim champ at the best aspect of his game and made it look easy, I would be livid if I was being boo'd.

2)He wanted to get paid; Bud Light wouldnt pay him, so he got his money from Coors light.

Simple really; people always ***** that the UFC controls everything, Brock just said "I'm big enough you need to pay ME not the company"

Still wanted Mir to win. :verysad

Great post. Lesnar is not just crazy strong, but very good technic for his wrestling.

Nice post Beebs. I enjoyed it.

I believe Lesnar to have solid wrestling credentials. I also haven't been stating Lesnar is merely a brute that belongs in a higher weight class. I am still refraining from praising Lesnar's technical abilities. Once someone forces him to display a technical prowess like exhibited in Coleman vs Severn, or Hughes vs Trigg I&II, I'll too write about his skills.

Not read he post yet, but saw the responses, and looking forward to tucking in to some Lesnar appraisal

IMO he's right up there with Barnett and Emelianenko

Just wish Brock and Josh had a face off for the shot at Fedor

Ironically, Lesnar was never known for being a technical wrestler in his college days. He was a guy who relied heavily on his athletic gifts. And he still does. However, you dont go this far by being a good athlete, you have to some technical grappling skills.

Absolutely, his wrestlings not technical for a high level wrestler, but just like Royce wasn't the slickest bjj guy, he showed they people needed to learn, just lime certain guys like hughes, trigg, hamill, edgar, rashad, lindland, and now Brock since he has the stage. Edgar and maynard really show it.

    WELL ****IN SAID m8 !!!!!

there is plenty of other guyz that are bigger and stronger than brock that were solid wrestlerz on some level that got there buttz handed to them in MMA at one stage or another

dan bobish is a BRUTE with POWER and is 300lbz but the thing that setz brock apart is for his size he is EXTREMELY FAST and AGILE as well as IMPROVING TECHNIQUALLY which when combined with brockz tremendous strength presentz huge problemz for ANY BJJ specialist that would attempt to DOMINATE him on the ground

    ****, man...

You gotta put a warning up before you post pictures like that...

Nobody wants to see two guys havin sex...

Damn, you need to put a warning disclaimer that says, "gay sex inside," in big bold letteras with lots of exclamation points.

The mind sees what it wants. If yours takes fighting as sex, you probably had an abusive step dad with boundry issues and a mom named Chastity.

I'll reserve judgment until he faces a decent fighter. His actions after the fight were pathetic and childish.

Name 5 decent fighters better than he has fought.

    1 Warm up
2 Frank Mir, more than decent
    3 Heath, decent, durable
    4 Randy, champ
    5 Mir, Champ.

Name 5 guys who are decent if they are not. Even better, name 5 guys who would fight him that are "decent", which means Fedor is out.

You are the biggest idiot in the world if you don't think Mir, Randy, and Heath are "decent".
