hi guys almost everyone is saying " george foreman was slow like hell or he had no stamina" basing on the fight against muhammad ali in zaire, but it is not true.... foreman fought 10 rounds against peralta twice and he did beat levi forte in 10 rounds without problems, in zaire he was fighting with a terrible climate , ali fought saving his energy during all the fight, foreman was hitting in every round , and he fought 8 rounds, and if foreman was that slow ali would not have been against the ropes all the fight, peralta could not run from foreman during all the fight in the rematch , so the was not that slow, foreman was much more mobile in his early career, he was lighter so he was more effective and he did attack more aggressively, actually rocky marciano was a natural 190 pounder and foreman was a natural 230 pounder and foreman was much faster than rocky on his feet , and comparable hands speed. i know that foreman did not have the stamina of frazier or he was not as fast as ali, but saying " he was slow like hell or he had no stamina " it is absolutely false. Foreman's hand speed was pretty good in the early rounds, but he really loaded up on his punches, so his fists had further to travel. When he started to tire and slow down, it made his punches slow. But that didn't actually happen every fight. Rounds 7 - 10 of the Peralta fight : [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmiaY9foH8w&feature=related[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JC629JS-Zp4&feature=related[/ame] He certainly wouldn't be considered a slow heavyweight in today's division. Pretty light on his feet for a heavy puncher too.
