When it so so clear that a fighter has beaten another fighter but the judges have been paid off the sanctioning body should overrule this in the following days and give the fight to the rightful winner. I'm sick of these **** decisions. If i was ali funeka I'd hop over the ropes and beat the **** out of those judges.

He should be awarded the fight and the belt by the IBF. Simple as.

Problem is, if you believe ESB, these 'extreme situations' occur at a rate of about one every two weeks....

Hard to judge what is "extreme circumstances" though... Don't get me wrong, I agree with you 100%.

But it would just "open the floodgates" to any boxer who felt like they won a fight - they would go screaming and crying to the sanctioning body, and if the sanctioning body didn't overturn it, they'd cry foul about the sanctioning body.

Not to mention the fact that if someone buys off judges, they can easilly buy off the members of the sanctioning body too... Although I truly believe in most cases of bad decisions, it's more the incompetence of the judges and not corruptness. MOST cases.

And that could be me being EXTREMELY naive.

With that said - something's gotta be done.

If this happened, John Ruiz would be a 5-time champion.

As much as corrupt judges have ruined the sport...
they have also given boxing it's unpredictability making a true mystery who wins...lol
    (Regardless of what we say)

Just punish judges who score like this, and EXCLUDE them from any further title fights. Then, judges wouldn't be so keen on fixing fights just for a 5-star hotel suite with some fine hooker selection at their disposal. As it is, they can fix fights for a diner in a top rated restaurant with their girl, without having to fear anything.

:good Totally agree. It's so unfair when someone wins a fight but the judges can just go "no u didn't"

Wouldn't solve anything, as has been pointed out. Who's to say what qualifies as "extreme circumstances"? Does a close hometown decision like Diaz-Malignaggi count? Because I don't think it does, but others certainly might.

    Ridiculous idea!!!!!!!
Hand the sanctioning bodies complete control of who the world champions are, and therefore allow the promoters to decide who the world champions are as they are the ones who fund the sanctioning bodies by paying to get one of their fighters ranked!!!! This is trully stupid, all I can say is we all know who won ceratin fights and who didnt, and just let it be!

The bottom line is that very few people or organisations are trustworthy in boxing. There are no judges or sanctioning bodies that will not accept a bribe from promoters. It is easy to blame judges, but most of us would do the same.
