In fairness to David Haye (and his toe)..

I've never liked Haye much, thought he's an arrogant ***** and was genuinely hoping Wladimir will humiliate him for the way he bahaves (f**k promoting the fight, there are lines that shouldn't be crossed and IMO he did cross them). He failed to do so and IMHO it's because:

    1. He was overly cautios.
    2. Haye was very cautious and showed very good, reflexes based defense.
    3. Haye's broken toe (if it was indeed broken) really, genuinely prevented him from engaging 100%. He was much more afraid to open up since he didn't have his offensive arsenal fully intact.

By no means I want to say he would win the fight had his toe been ok (I don't believe it) but this injury, as funny as it sounds as an excuse, is a quite serious pain in the ass for a boxer, especially the boxer relying on one punch power. In throwing a hayemaker the way Haye likes to do it, planting your feet with full confidence is a key thing..

Another thing.. Despite Haye's annoying traits, I believe he's not only about money. Part of his motivation (to fight both Klitschkos) is a genuine will to challenge and prove himself, just for the sake of it and that we should applaud. Plus let's face it - he's pretty good. There's no one better for Vitali to face at the moment and a KO win over Haye would be the perfect way to go out of the sport.

Despite the fact that he is past his prime (probably more than most people think), it's a good fight to be made. I believe that Vitali that crushed Kirk Johnson after the war with Lewis wouldn't have much trouble with Haye but now given his age and Haye's style, we can't write Davie off completely.

I'm still Vitali's supporter and think all Vitali fans should be glad this fight is being made. Let's just hope it will be good :good

a fraud? are you an idiot. his record is littered with success. he only failed at the very pinacle of the sport against wlad, who some tards rate better than ali.

    id certainly watch it.

If he visibly comes only to collect his paycheck vs Vitali, I'll come back to this thread and eat my words.

But anyway, to call him a complete fraud is a missunderstanding and I think you know it. Dominating the cruiserweight division and being a force to be reckoned with at HW after that (arguably the next force after Klitschkos) is not what a complete fraud would come to.

I always thought Vitali was the more beatable Klitschko for Haye. He needs to outland Vitali whilst fighting his Valuev gameplan somehow. Haye seems like he's actually troubled by the way he went out against Wlad, and was subsequently ridiculed, so he'll be fighting for legacy's sake and should hopefully put on a decent performance.

As long as Haye doesn't run like a coward like adamek did it should be a decent fight.
