In general, there's a lot more respect for Benn than for Eubank.

Kinda weird, since they were so evenly matched. Perhaps because of Benn vs McLellen?

It's probably due to Benns all-action fighting style more than anything. Shame though because when they were both fighting Eubank was by far the more likeable guy outside the ring, Benn was an out and out moron in those days. He's changed now though, for the better.

benn would have fought anyone, anywhere and sod the consequences...eubanks continual posturing about his distaste for the sport and his bum of the month itv tour did a lot to harm his image amongst real fight fans......benn was my favourite fighter, and i couldnt stand chris, but now, wit hthe benefit of hindsight, i can see what a talent eubank was and indeed, what a charactwer....a true ring eccentric with the talent to match his bragadoccio

IMO BENN WILL ALWAYS BE THE FAN FAV BECAUSE OF HIS ALL ACTION STYLE. i USED TO THINK UBANK WAS A COMPLETE ***** AT THE TIME BUT AS TIME HAS GONE ON AND THE MORE YOU WATCH HIS FIGHTS THE MORE I HAVE COME TO RESPECT HIM. AFTER READING HIS BOOK YOU FIND OUT THERES A LOT MORE TO HIM. BESIDES AFTER UBANK CAME NAZ AND THERE WAS A COMPLETE ***** MADE UBANKS SEEM TAME :good

Benn fought and won against big names in the US of A. A big requirement to get the yanks on your side.

By the way Gutto, Ubank is spelt Eubank(s), and don't post in capitals, youre either ******ed or angry.

all summed up nicely. benn's style and willingness to fight anyone was what made him so popular, and people could relate to him more than eubank. benn liked a tear up then going out afterwards and getting pissed up. just a regular bloke that fought for a living.

Pretty well sums it up I think. Benn really got the most out of the talent he was blessed with. He didn't give a fcuk and wanted to bash you up anytime and if he had to go to your patch to do it, great (Barkley, DeWitt, Galvano). Eubank with his talk about it being a mugs game and his bum of the month tour was only ever in it for the money and didn't get the most out of what he had, though he did put in some remarkable performances (Benn I, Wharton, Rocchigiani).

Benn was more exciting and fought quite a bit in America. Eubank should get ultimate respect though.
